Why is game not free to play?

@1Hairy-Gorilla The old premium from BF 3/4 is not the same as todays season pass.
Premium had new wapons, maps and vehicles.
You got real good DLC in one pakage,
Current system is based on skins and no real added value.
In some games it even gave you a unfair edge over others.
