Why is there no Console Only Cross-Play?
We should get console crossplay only so me and my friend can play together without being killed every 2 seconds by some xtreme fast pcplayer.

Console players have an unfair disadvantage when facing PC players in crossplay lobbies.
This is very annoing and a turn off from Battlefield 2042. I have already a couple of friends who stopped playing from how frustrating this is. Controllers cannot compete with mouse and keyboard. The only solution for console players is to disable crossplay. However, if one does this, its nearly impossible to find a match with only their specific console players. When trying to start a match, it says "waiting for players to join," but the game never starts.
To fix this, DICE needs to limit PC players to only controllers, excluding mouse and keyboard. The other solution is to exclude PC players from crossplay with console players. Let only Xbox Series X players and PS5 players duke it out.

Yes it would. I fear DICE is too busy with all these bug fixes to notice these issues

I found a total of 4 conquest and 0 breakthrough matches in the 7 hours of the trial I played last night and today while crossplay was disabled on Xbox Series X. 3 of those conquests were on the same map since you get booted to the main menu after each game. All of them had about 25% bots.
Literally sat at the screen that says "Waiting for players to join" longer than I actually played the game.
They need to let Xbox disable crossplay in-game like PS5 and PC can, otherwise this problem will never go away.
- @Velcro_Snickers is that all console players are playing with PC for not being able to play with crossplay off. As is my case and that of thousands for the error 2: 2600J
- Console players should have option to choose crossplay with consoles only or consoles+PC
While you go back to the main menu, you are still in matchmaking for the next round. Take a look at the bottom where the countdown is ticking away. Just hold steady and you will end up in the next map in the rotation.
They certainly should fix this, nearly broke my controller yesterday 🙂
@AutotitansMouse and keyboard support + input based matchmaking would genuinely transform this game. All the other stuff about specialists/classes/balance etc. all pale into comparison to the giant issue that input disparities creates. The game just simply is not fun on consoles, at all.
Battlefield games always have longer engagement ranges than other shooters which is why it has always confused me that it also has by far the weakest aim assist. However, in previous titles, you’ve only been playing against people with the same input deficiencies as you. Now in BF2042 we have cross-play against PC AND 128 player maps that are larger and have even less cover so the engagement ranges are even longer than your typical Battlefield.
All these factors add up to a disastrous experience for console players.
This is a big missed opportunity for EA because a lot of PC players bought consoles recently due to the state of the GPU market. If console actually played well, they’d sell a tonne of $70 copies of the game to ex-PC players.
I think many (like me) are now starting to look at Vanguard and wonder whether that’s a better option since it offers mouse and keyboard support.@lucky_dutch+1 I've been playing COD warzone for months on Xbox w/ kb&m, it's fantastic! It feels just like a PC you cannot tell the difference in game. I'm still terrible at the game and I get see destroyed by players on Console/ controller all the time but I'm able to play with my PC friends again without thousands of dollars spent on a new PC. I feel ashamed for purchasing BF2042 just assuming kb&m support would be there. I literally played one match on controller and gave up.. back to COD until they right this wrong.
If you think 2042 they an have an unfair advantage you should try Halo Infinite Multiplayer against PC with Halos crazy long TTK, its even more evident there as multiple accurate hits become even more important and M&K destroy controller in that, and its been said crossplay will be locked on for the life of that game

- I have played on PC and now I do it on PS5. There is a lot of difference, only DICE and EA can think of playing together. Do you think it is just a keyboard and a mouse the difference? There are many things, PC computers that are worth $ 2000, graphics cards ... 120 or More fps, macros, gaming monitors
Support for mouse and keyboard on console would be great imo
- @Autotitans You have no ideas of who are on PC and who are not that killed you ... So stop pretending anything ... also If anything consoles players in warzone had an advantage against most PC players . And now only High end consoles have crossplay with PC so they are at no real disavantage .. I get killed by consoles and PC players equally
@Stew360That's no actually true, in the player ID banner in the revive state, you can identify if the player is on PC or console.
In my opinion and personal experience, when I trade shots with a PC players, especially with snipers, they usually have more control for a nice head shot, in the controller, side it take a small effort to adjust the aim in the head for more accuracy.
This is my feeling about the issue to play against PC players with mouse and keyboard input.
Cheers- Warzone does not have the mobility of Battlefield, which is fully exploited by PC player
- @Stew360 Every time you die, you see who killed you and weather they are on PC or console and the vast number of my deaths are from PC players. Not even close.

- @Hudson009 Perhaps you haven’t run into the issue very often on the games you play, but Cronus-max and XIM use are rampant on games like the division and destiny. At least if MnK support became native for this game on console, it would eliminate the advantage XIM provides to console players and level the playing field. It would also most likely disincentivize people from using a Cronus as well, as per the manufacturer, running scripts while using a MnK, will have negative impacts on the input of the mouse, as the scripts on Cronus are designed expressly for use on a controller.

Have cross play for console players only, or based in the input method would be super nice!
I started playing dark souls again because I'm a little off when I try to play battlefield 2042 against PC players.
And I did turn off the cross play in the Xbox, bu I was unable to find a match.

- @Ivan_msj I can find a match in AOW with it turned off but not in Portal. Hopefully Dice gets this sorted out soon so we can all play the way we want.

Im on XSX and to be honest Ive had no issue destroying pc players. With so many players and tons of stuff going on at once I dont see why console players should have trouble killing pc players. Personally, I have no issue playing pc players and im fine with the way things are. Maybe its just my experience playing siege against M&K players the last 5 years that makes me feel comfortable. However, I also have no issue if they were to add a option for console crossplay only for those who do have issues playing against pc players.
- @cng82 you playing also against a lot of pc players who are learning the game. You can not compete with pc with a controller. An average pc player will destroy a great controller player.
The accuracy you can get with a mouse is unreal. And I like my controller, I like to chill when I game. I play COD I need a shower after a session...lol
- @Autotitans yeah I'm getting seriously tired of being lasered instantly by PC players and their PP-19s or DMRs.
- @ArchAngeL-PCX Also the amount of snipers in pc lobbies is unreal, one of the worst parts about the forced crossplay for me.
