Why is there no Console Only Cross-Play?

I am on PC and I decided to turn off cross play to see if the experience is any different but I cannot find a game. At the time of writing this, still waiting... going on 8 minutes without others in the squad. I've tried this in the past and I couldn't find a game. Many times the game would return me to the Specialist screen where I choose my game mode and start looking for a game.

It's quite possible that the player count is higher on consoles and hence more console servers where cross play is enabled. Also, from what I've read across these forums, reddit, and other sources, PS5 has the best overall experience. Interesting thing is I started checking the team's lists and see mostly PC players when looking for a 64 player game which ends up being around 70-80% pc players. That's just what I saw and my own personal trending experience.

edit2: Tried this with 128 players and it kicked me back to the Specialist/game selection screen after about 6 minutes of waiting and no squad joins. 🤷‍♂️
