I don't quite understand why the last update changed it so Irish could no longer counter C5, since it is not exactly fun to die from C5 being thrown into close-quarter infantry engagements.Especially since it demotivates players to counter explosive spam with him and revive teammates.And on another note I think it would be fair and actually motivate Irish players to get 1 Scoreboard-Point (in the support-category same as heals, supplies and repairs) when countering an explosive with the APS.

@XXXSELVERXXXHonestly I wish this change was accompanied with further nerfs to the C5 throwing range so it is not used as a dynamite stick bundle.Plastic explosives are supposed to be pressed into getting stuck into a surface IRL instead of being tossed like an offensive/defensive handgrenade.

@XXXSELVERXXX I can see it either way. Honestly, a C5 isn't an active explosive until it goes off, unlike a rocket or whatever. But as a person that regularly played Irish as support for a buddy that drives vehicles you can bet I like it more when it would block it.

@XXXSELVERXXX APS is designed by its own nature to counter - Projectiles like rockets, missiles. not hand thrown devices like grenades and explosives. why it even intercepts hand thrown grenades is beyond me. but this is BF, it bears about a 5% relation to actual combat environments.So *shrugs*

@AOD_CapStar362 If you throw a grenade over it sure, but if you throw it just short, it’ll kill the APS. C5 could work the same way.

@ATFGunr i get that - however, APS at its core was designed to defeat projectiles - using RL applications.it was never designed for hand thrown munitions or explosives and actually relied on the velocity of a incoming projectile to even be triggered.hence the throwing of the 5% of realism in BF.

To reach hundreds you would need certain modes or choke-points and then again if you are the only one protecting your team with it you SHOULD get points for that and since you get hundreds of points as score normally this isn't a problem.
You also get them for heals, supplies and repairs too. So no, capturing flags still gives way more and would only add to it.

@XXXSELVERXXX I understand that it's too strong when Irish blocks everything, but then again he has less use and his APS would get destroyed too often

Well, I would say that Irish should continue to block everything, because otherwise you will be too suppressed as infantry in close skirmishes

So letting the crossbow deflect the explosive bolts now is completely absurd.

A developer in the shower probably came up with the idea of no longer allowing the C5 to be defended against.
