why ps5 can not play with ps4?

If you bought the GOLD or the ULTIMATE edition for your PS5, then you are also able to download the PS4 version of the game for your PS5.  And that gives you option to play with your PS4 friends in the PS4 BF2042 universe.  And subsequently then also the ability to crossplay with the Xbox One players there.

Again, the Cross-Gen Bundle is included in the Standard Edition as well.  ....not just the Gold and Ultimate.
