I think you forget to realize that fun is different between each individual. What you like could be different to me and the next person/s. So your post is incorrect, the answer is YES.
The reason why I say it's YES, is because of the notion that if you put someone who doesn't like something in an environment they don't like, they won't ever have fun, they'll just keep disliking it.
For example, I don't like bots in FPS video games. I like to play with humans to tighten my hand & eye coordination, so that way I grow over time. I don't get that from bots. As much as a company tries, something is always predictable.
But also, I'm not a biased person, I'm glad that the feature is there for the players who want it, but I won't be forced to play something I don't like, I'll be perfectly happy playing something different.
