Just let there be an option in the game, this way we're all happy.

Depends on the AI itself. If the bots are good, it might be fun, if they are bad (cheating or stupid) then it will suck. I don't think that those bots are good and personally i don't want to play against bots on multiplayer servers.
Battlefront 2 is a whole different thing. The bots in coop were quite "good" but not even close to real players. The game itself is also completely different, so i don't know why people are comparing it to BF2042.
Maybe it would be smarter for Dice to fix their map design, instead of filling empty spaces with stupid bots. It is just not a great idea, to take a map like hamada as an example, where you were able to have a single round without seeing many enemy soldiers (depending on the balance). Now we got a map, that is 4 times bigger, but we only have twice the numbers of players.
- 5 years agoI personally think, for those of us who like AI Action SOLO Style, the Game would benefit from a Local Play Mode where all Bots are loaded Locally and thus the Players who like going PvE SOLO can just setup a match in whatever mode and play, and have a lot of fun with it. No Internet being needed for it, unless the Player wants a Ranked Match against Bots, where those Bots are loaded from a Server that hosts Bots.
I just hope £100 GBP Pricetag is worth it, because that really is very steep for only one Game. For that Price, we expect a minimum of over 5,000 Hours of Playable Game. Just saying.- BFI-KinJO1875 years agoRising Scout
AI is great for many reasons mostly to start servers but i think progression should not be allowed for bots. If the only way people can rank up is by killing AI bots then battlefield is not for them. Ranking up should stay as it is not sitting on bot filled servers getting a high rank..
Not having a option to turn them on and off would not make sense at all and it is kinda a default option that is most needed.

I would not say that there should be no Progression. That said, I do think it should be reduced for normal take-downs.
XP Gain Values (Kill Type based on Points and %):
Standard Kills include any Normal Attack from Projectiles
Standard (Real): 100 XP
Standard (Bot): 25 XP
Head Shot (Real): 150 XP
Head Shot (Bot): 50 XP
Environmental Kills include any usage of the Environment such as Buildings, Trees, and In-Field Demolitions
Environmental (Real): 150 XP
Environmental (Bot): 50 XP
Long Range Kills include any ranged attack over 250m (including from Land/Sea vehicles), but differ from Long Shot Head Shot
Long Range On Foot (Real): 100 XP + 50% of Range in Metres
Long Range On Foot (Bot): 50 XP + 25% of Range in Metres
Long Range In Tank (Real): 150 XP + 25% of Range in Metres
Long Range In Tank (Bot up to 500m): 75 XP
Long Range In Tank (Bot at over 500m): 75 XP + 25% of Range in Metres
Long Range In Boat (Real): 100 XP + 25% of Range in Metres
Long Range In Boat (Bot): 75 XP
Long Range In Transport (Real): 150 XP + 25% of Range in Metres
Long Range In Transport (Bot): 50 XP
So that covers all the Types of Kills I can think of except for Sniper / Marksman Head Shot Kills from over 250m. I've left that out intentionally as this requires no modification over and above having a reduced output of points totalling 25% of normal value.
So, in example:
Marksman Head Shot Kill (Real): 100 XP + 400 XP (for 400m)
Marksman Head Shot Kill (Bot): 25 XP + 100 XP (for 400m)
You may be thinking why, and it's rather simple. Sometimes Beginner Players just can't get used to a specific weapon and can't get a normal kill with it at all. I've had it happen myself, I have to have a Scope of some kind, and once I've got my ACOG, all's good. For Sidearms, I generally have to resort to getting the GDS (normally comes after the RDS). Happens with Jets too, getting the correct tool for the Job isn't always easy, and I've landed Jets at Objectives in Conquest before now just for the sake of XP, even at the cost of the Jet. Though it can be funny seeing an A-10 that's landed at a Flag somewhere, as you come around the Corner right in the path of the Cannon.
Additionally, on the note of Assignments. I've not played Battlefield 1 or V in Multiplayer, but so I don't know how much has changed. However, Assignment Progress should be slower if Bots are being Used.
Example: Get 100 Kills with an Assault Riffle, Bot Kills count as 0.1 so thus 10 Bots would be needed to count 1 Progress for that Assignment.

Bots are the stupidest thing they could have done to this game or any game. I do not play multyplayer games to play against bots it is a huuuuge turnoff. No fun. It doesn’t matter how good the bots are. I have no interest whatsoever in playing with bots it makes the experience extremely watered down. I want to play against real players outsmart and outmaneuver and out gunned Real people and be outsmarted and outgunned by real people !! I would much rather just play with less than 128 people than have bots in the match atall The whole game is watered down because of this Honestly I can’t wait till someone makes a modern military fps and does it right. It’s long overdue. I think ea has just lost touch too deeply

How can u possibly get any enjoyment or sense of accomplishment getting kills on on a bot ? I’m just curious bcuz I personally think bot kills shouldn’t even be added to your score if they are going to be in the game. Sorry. I am still just soo disappointed in this game. I appologise
