didn't see any pilots complaining when they could just keep doing runs back and forth from one end of the map to the other and hitting the wildcat with AGMs.
the cannons on an AA gun should shred whatever aircraft they hit

Poor argument - that was bad game design, whether or not pilots were complaining about it. Are you suggesting that bad game design in the early builds justifies bad balance now? I take it that you are trolling.

that is exactly what i am suggesting. their purpose of existence is to turn aircraft into a smoking hole in the ground

First it was the buff to the Anti Air Tank's Gun range,
Then it was the buff to Anti Air Shoulder fired Rocket Launcher's Lock-on range,
Then it was the nerf to Jets AGM's,
Then it was the nerf to the Jet's 30MM cannon, oh wait, those were always average at best.
Then it was the buff to the Anti Air Tank's Missile Lock-on range.
And then now, another buff to the Anti Air Tank's Missile Lock-on range.
I get it, DICE thinks the new below radar will be useful on the game's notoriously flat maps so they ridiculously buffed lock on ranges, but it's redundant if the Anti Air Tank retains that buffed Gun range.
The ONLY time a lock-on should be possible at ranges like 800 meters should be because of a SOFLAM lock-on, but 2042 is more concerned about rock, paper scissors gameplay than actual teamplay.
Jets are like an after thought in this game, the gross imbalance between the two Jets still exist and nothing has been done about it.
