Supposedly your main concern is that the KBM users have an advantage over your play style. You think you're safe from KBM users on console even if it's not allowed in the game? I'm guessing you've heard of the 3rd party hardware that circumvents the system such as Zen Cronus and Titan 2? Not only allowing you to use a KBM on the console but also gives them the aim assist designed for controllers and the ability to load custom scripts to further the gap.
Now before you say that not many use these addons, you'd be mistaken:
BATCH #5 | 121763 and 124779 | SOLD OUT - SHIPPING NOW |
BATCH #6 | 124780 and 131915 | SOLD OUT - DUE END OF JULY |
BATCH #7 | 131916 and 132435 | SOLD OUT - DUE AUGUST |
BATCH #8 | 132436 and 137397 | SOLD OUT - DUE SEPT |
BATCH #9 | 137398 and above | ON SALE NOW - DUE OCT |
That's just for the Cronus Zen, not including their other products or Titan 2. There's been demonstrations of the scripts allowing wall hacks and aimbotting. Luckily the developer of this script and Activision came to an agreement. But that doesn't mean others won't follow. But feel free to continue taking a stance against KBM because you fear the game will change. Sad to say you lost that battle years ago when controllers were connected via USB if not before.
An 'undetectable' and 'unstoppable' cheat was taken down at Activision's request | PC Gamer
If anything the KBM users coming from PCs are looking to get away from the cheats as well. To say the advancement of input device is the end of console play we'd still be using Pong paddles or the old Atari joysticks with a single button. Even jumping forward ten years to the Nintendo with the rectangular block and two buttons
The bottom line is things change and usually for the better. The consoles have always been catching up to the PC and as previously stated they are basically PC with a closed environment at this point. Anyone would tell you there is very little difference between the two categories these days in terms of hardware. AMD is even selling below grade XBox Series X APU's for users to make tiny gaming pc's.
- 5 years ago@Lancelot_du_Lac that's my understanding. But not only have they sold that many they have presold them 3 months/batches in advance.

@QuinReisenso doing the maths...
Chronus sold 138k emulators. Assume Xim and Titan sell roughly the same, thats 414k units. Let's round that up to 500k units.
BFV sold <8M units and, guessing Consoles account for 75% of those sales, we get 5.5M units.
But emulator players are not all playing BFV. A quick search shows that BFV is ranked 14th in popular FPS. Let's be generous and say 25% of these people are playing BFV i.e. 125K emulator owners are playing BFV on consoles.
125K/5.5M = 2.3% of the BFV player population are using Xim/Chronus/Titan.
The PUBG Community manager (RoboDanjal) stated in a Twitter post in 2018 that the usage of 3rd party devices was “statistically very low”. In my world, that means <5%. So, I’m guessing that most people would be lucky (or not) to encounter 1 user of an emulator (including Scuff controllers) in any round.I am not suggesting it is not a problem, I am suggesting it is not as big a problem as people think.

@Lancelot_du_LacTrue.. I was doing some light math in my head as well. However when you have a game that supports 150 players in an instance such as Warzone or Battlefield, even 1-2% means that you're more than likely to encounter cheaters in every match. Not saying they all have the suped up scripts but it only takes one to ruin the experience for hundreds of legitimate players.
If this was a program being released with a 1-2٪ possibility of failure to load. It would never be released and no one would buy it. It would drastically hurt their sales if they openly admitted that their application is compromised.
- Lancelot_du_Lac5 years agoSeasoned Ace@QuinReisen I see your point.
I just get the impression that people think it is much more common (emulators) than it really is! My view is that many players automatically cry 'cheat' every time they are bested on the battlefield (I have been guilty of the same). So I spectated a couple of really 'good' players. Guess what? They really are good! Their map knowledge and reactions are excellent. I now just try to be in the top half of the scoreboard of my side. - Trokey665 years agoSeasoned Ace
@Lancelot_du_LacPart of the issue is not knowing.....
Of course there are 'good' players out there and being beaten by them just has to be sucked up and that's fine.
But then there are the times when you don't know or worse, know that you have only been beaten by a superior input device.
There are too many players that will do anything to get an edge over others because they can't improve with 'just a controller'.
Too many players worship at the alter of the Almighty KD and other stats that they forget that above all else, gaming should be fun and fun for everyone.
Going are the days where a group of like minded people can jump on a console, have a drink and a laugh because every game is becoming a tryhard sweat fest. And these people are convincing DICE to make it more so.
Look at the hard core lite approach of BFV and constant whinging about KB&M, why can't people just have fun these days? - Lancelot_du_Lac5 years agoSeasoned Ace@Trokey66 Someone should write a psychology thesis on the mind of the gamer.
Personally, I use games as a bit of stress release and fun at the end of the day. - Trokey665 years agoSeasoned Ace@Lancelot_du_Lac It would be an interesting read and may surprise some people.
And as to why I game, you and me both mate.
