Will Battlefield 2042 consoles players have a chat box?
PC players have a chat box to communicate with the rest of team. If cross play with PC players that's a big advantage, would not make it fair play for console players...
Using the chatbox for comms is limited at best. 90% of the chat feed on PC is automated admin messages and people flaming each other. The number of visible lines combined with the frequency of messages mean messages disappear very quickly as well. It's not really a practical tool for comms beyond spamming flag letters or vague locations and your message will disappear before most people have read it (if they're even reading it).
I wouldn't worry about it.
The ability the tweak settings for better visibility, ultra high frame rates and of course, keyboard and mouse, is where the real tangible advantages for PC players are in a crossplay environment.
