The limited ability to demolish structures in the Beta gameplay does not bode well in this regard.
Alongside the large-scale warfare, the destruction of various structures added that extra layer of realism setting Battlefield apart and above its competitors. So it was not promising with the almost entirely missing levolution and abillity for the players to inflict any damage to the structures in the Beta game...
Even the smallest feeble shed on the Orbital map could not be bulldozed over when in a tank. And none of the buildings could be levelled despite shelling them with Sabot or other explosives.
This definitely need to get attention and implemented or yet again another Only-In-Battlefield has gone missing in action!
- carsono3115 years agoSeasoned Ace@CyberDyme I agree with your concerns, but I felt the original post was asking about levolution type events, which we have definitively seen are coming back to Battlefield 2042… we simply don’t know which maps will have what feature.

Fair point @carsono311 ,
If just for skyscraper levolutions, then it will much depend on the map and its contents.
And if on the skyscraper-busy Songdo map in South Korea, would we be happy even with just one of the many buildings coming down? 😎
That was maybe something special on the Siege of Shanghai map..... 7 years ago...
And back then we took it down by using tank shells on a couple of it's pillars. Why not give us more buildings like that on the city maps we now get in BF2042?
We could also previously turn small cities/village buildings into large piles of rubble. The tank hunting engineers could both be crushed in it, but they also served as great hiding spots for the same engineers to take out the vehicle *. (replace * with: 'overly dedicated vehicle drivers') The large piles of rubble also serve as great infantry hideouts from air fire.
This is 2042 and we want to make things go BOOM !

@CyberDymeIndeed. I am in full agreement with you that if the quality of destruction we saw in the Beta is what is to be expected at launch... that is * poor.
There are so many aspects of this game and its development that have been head-scratching and seemingly going backwards... I truly hope destructibility is not one of them.

Im sure they will
- 4 years ago@GrizzGolf Doesn't seem like they will, that upcoming Battlefield Mobile game looks like it has more destruction than this game.
