@ragnarok013Same. I would like to know the reasoning here, although I suspect it is as you said and perhaps increased demands on video memory to make those kind of "permanent" changes on maps this large...
I would say they could have at least included the aesthetic and interactive aspects of destroying building facades and crushing infantry and whatnot like we had in the recent games.
I mean, at least put a nice spalled hole from a Sabot shot on the side of that Assembly Building if we cannot take it apart...

Exactly that - Yes please!
I recall on maps like the Siege of Shanghai, there were many other buildings where we could drive a tank through the groundfloor level or through the shops in the mall areas. Some of the fortified walls could not be run down, others could. So infantry and the vehicles still had plenty of hiding areas and strategic maneuvering to do, to fight out the fun battle.
Same as well on maps like Lancang Dam and Zavod.311. So plenty of semi-destructible building structures there.
That all buildings and all walls right now just stands like nothing hit them in BF2042 is not entertaining or strategic game inspiring.
