It wasn’t that bad. Relax.

@wek-sol 90% steam players gone and 2 - 3 rating on all platforms, yeah that's not too bad 😂 🤣. Could be worse...

"The question is rather: why does it matter?"
Why does 90% of the players leaving matter after two months? Gee I wonder why, how does that bode for the future of the game? Portal is already dead."With crossplay on, that's always likely to be enough to get a full game, regardless of region"
For now, but at this rate that won't last long, that's the point.
"I paid £80 for it and already have over 160 hours in-game" ..
Great so you only care that the game lasts long enough for you, it's still a failure of a game. Wouldn't it be better if it was played years later like BF3 and 4 still are?
"Actually, both your points are irrelevant. You develop your point by noting that people who continue to play are likely not those the social media warriors have reached. This is a good thing."
No my first "point" was a statistic that counters his implied belief that steam users are unusually young compared to other platforms and that's why they are leaving, this is factually incorrect. You failed to comprehend either point.
"Portal is being addressed. Rush is back in the rotation. The bugs, such as they are, are not gamebreaking (we can still play, right?) The specialists are not awful (it's opinions time; we don't need to support our assertions right now). The voice lines are cringy, but do they really break the game? I would suggest they don't;"
Those are the reasons people are leaving, according to the actual reviews, that was my point. The person I responded to believed it was young steam gamers following angry joe and the likes which is an absurd excuse. You once again did not comprehend what I an conveying.
Portal should have never been gimped to start with, rush should've never been taken out to start either. Portal servers have dried up, the damage is done, its too late. The specialists are awful if you care about BF team support and don't want a Warzone type hero shooter, which is what most vets don't want. Nothing breaks the game on its own, its the culmination of everything that does. If the best you can say is that you can play the game, that doesn't exactly sing praise. Your standards are terribly low if all you care about is a playable experience, what about a decent game that isn't riddled with issues?
"The maps lack cover. Perhaps you should get a vehicle before you try to walk to C1. Perhaps you should consider which flags are more oriented towards vehicles than others"
Perhaps you should understand that this series has traditionally been about foot soldiers supplemented by vehicles. Having to be a vehicle to get anywhere is stupid bad design. If you had cover then you could have more gameplay options. You could traverse as a foot soldier if you wanted to, instead of having to rely on vehicles to get anywhere. This also doesn't work when you are constantly being spawn killed. The deplorable map design and balance has been well noted and there are maps in which the losing side cannot possibly come back because of being spawn killed be vehicles.
The maps do not work for breakthrough or conquest, they were designed for Hazard Zone.
"Unjustified conclusion. The game haemhorraged players in the first month or two. Player numbers have clearly stabilised since, albeit at significantly lower numbers than at launch. Check the holy Steam Charts."
No, it has a 2 - 3 out of 10 rating on all platforms, that is a reasonable basis for the game dying prematurely. You might to recheck it yourself, it's even lower than when I posted this thread. The one month steam chart shows a continuous bleed : https://steamcharts.com/app/1517290#1m. December had double the average player count, and that was already after the mass exodus.
Game flops, as this one is, don't die all of a sudden, they lose most sane players within a short window then bleed out for some coming months. This game will not be played in coming years with such an abysmal rating, absolutely not.
"While I don't agree that there's "absolutely nothing wrong" with player numbers (we'd all like to see more), neither do I agree that player numbers tell you that the game is a joke. That's just lazy. You can do better."
I can do better : horrible reviews that are also valid and detail the games actual problems. Poor performance, bugs, awful map design. A betrayal of the core roots of the franchise. Just because you enjoy the specialists doesn't mean that is fan service, its not, and its not something any veteran of the series should accept.
