You give a thermal imager to heavy equipment!

In your opinion, do you think this perk will change the balance of infantry versus heavy vehicles?
BF2042 has become like a HardCore, where the infantry simply mocks heavy equipment. For most of the game, you try to see these cockroaches in the textures instead of looking for heavy vehicles. The rotation of the tower does not even allow time to aim at the infantryman running nearby.
I think that it is necessary to give heavy equipment a choice of what to take, magnifying optics or a thermal imager.
I am also tormented by the question of the uselessness of STAF, why was it put in the main slot? Only a fool takes it STAF. Transfer it to an additional slot, otherwise STAF will remain an unclaimed perk.

  • @AlkaniusRUSI believe the problem for a heavy vehicle is its inability to quickly respond to threats, the problem is not at seeing them but not being able to accelerate fast enough as well as having a slow turret.
Also the turret low and high angle limitations

Look at how nice the EB-RAM is with its speed and agility.

    STAFF Shell is indeed garbage.

@UP_Hawxxeye Each piece of equipment has its own characteristics, maneuverability, armor, weapons, etc. You need to start with a little, to give the opportunity to normally anticipate threats. In BF4 on Hardcore, only the thermal imager saved me, I am 100% sure that this perk will give a second life to heavy equipment. In any case, the choice is up to the player that magnifying optics or a thermal imager is better for him.

vehicle mains saying * like this is one of the reasons i love killing vehicles

i'm fine with vehicles getting thermals as long as infantry can get dice LA type camo (with the same level of difficulty to obtain, that was fun)

@Prof3ss0r_M1k3So the whole beauty is that in BF2042 the infantry has no composure. Accordingly, it will be difficult for infantry to hide from a thermal imager. Moreover, even in BF4, if the infantry had camouflage of composure, through the thermal imager, infantry could be seen by luminous weapons.

  • @AlkaniusRUS that's why when i was sneaking up on a vehicle or an attack helicopter was looking for me i'd switch to sidearm if i was using dice LA camo. it is a LOT harder to spot that pistol. if i happened to be running C4 i'd switch to that

@Prof3ss0r_M1k3 It's all about ingenuity, of course, like you know the subtleties and survive, but the masses don't even know about it.
It is not clear why DICE does not want to increase the number of heavy equipment, provided that its life cycle is negligible. Part of the team uses tanks only for transport, not even trying to fight.

  • @AlkaniusRUS my favorite was sneaking up on a tank, putting mines down right behind the tank...almost under it...then run in front of the tank to get them to move and then BOOM (worked great in bf1 also before they changed how the mines stack on each other, esp on artillery truck)
