I need to mention first that I stopped playing a little bit after Update 3.3 (due top RL and later on due to covid) so I don’t know if there where issue with the patches in between Update 1.0.0 (start of season 1)
But since then I know for sure things are getting worse Update 1.1.0.
The performance is back to something like December / January
I have the same issues now that it is not possible to watch a video or stream beside gaming, the video starts lagging and the fps in game are dropping (maybe a memory leak here?)
vsync is still not working correctly, in the round is kind of working but in some menu and every loading screens it is going up to 300-350 fps (and the fans also going up…)
I think this issue is there since release and I think it should be fixed
But the worst thing are the loading and connection times since 1.0.0/1.1.0
Every first start (of the day) of the game the game will not connecting to the online service (loop of death on the satellite video)
Also, the loading times are horrible. I luckily tracked the time some month ago for a thread so now I can make a comparison.
My system has not changed also no changes on the content of the SSD where BF is on except the patch.
So here the times
- Matchmaking time: around 10 seconds / around 10 seconds (still the same)
- Map Loading time: 15-25 seconds (SSD) / 60+ seconds (why?)
- Staying on Squad Scree on a Fresh start: 10-60 seconds (On PC there are players which have the game installed on a classic HDD which increases loading time very much, which increase the waiting time for others on the server) / at its best it is 45-60 seconds to get into a round (I can see people chatting but I don’t get into one team so seems to be a hughe issu there ….)
- Returning to Menu: not measured back then because it was no issue / 45+ seconds (nearly the same as loading the map)
measured several times so I’m sure there is no caching and they are worse than before
I have 32GB of ram so I think there is enough ram for caching to reduce loading time (you only need to use it)
