Aim Assist Issues Remain on Console

Product: Battlefield 2042
Platform:Microsoft XBOX One
Please specify your platform model. Microsoft Xbox One X
Are you using any software with an overlay? No
Which part of the game is the issue happening in? Multiplayer
Which part of the mode? ConquestSmall
Please select your region South America
On which server did this happen? All Out Warfare Servers
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) Since launch, every play instance
Summarize your bug Aim assist is completely working improperly
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Aim Assist is not functioning properly on console, so just testing tracking will do
What happens when the bug occurs? Either the cursor cannot track properly or overcompensation occurs, both resulting in difficulty aiming
What should be happening instead? Aim assist needs to track more effectively

Even through Update 1.0, aim assist does not appear to be properly engaged for console players. It appears that aim assist when ADS is too weak when following a moving player, forcing players to push harder on the controller stick to try and compensate. Not only does the crosshair often not catch up to the moving player, but this can subsequently lead to overcompensation if that target stops moving and the player who is aiming must then readjust yet again.

This is causing uneven and unfair gunplay, especially when engaging in a gunfight with another player. This is honestly disheartening as it makes it difficult to properly play when we are being hampered by the aim assist notnproperly tracking a target.

Below is a great video explaining how the aim assist appears to be broken (albeit from January)

Please DICE, fix this issue sooner rather than later so console players can better enjoy overall gunplay throughout the game. We appreciate everything DICE does for our player base and I hope they act on this quickly to fix this entirely, many thanks!

PS, this has been posted to technical issues as well.

  • Just tried this game out again after the update and it still feels really bad. The aim assist pull seems a little better but the core problem still remains. The aiming feels janky and all over the place. Play any previous Battlefield game and the difference is stark. Its also really bad on pc with the mouse input.

The best way I can describe it is it feels like you have to paint a picture around your target to aim. It just feels sticky and awkward to aim.

I'm just going to stop playing at this point. If they cant fix this then idk what else to say. Its been 9 months and the mouse input on pc is still broken as well as on console.

I'm not going to spend my time playing an fps game where the aim is busted. The same goes for my friends.

@beeaazzellbub the Aim Assist on console is like Precision aim assist in cod, it slows down alot but you need to do the effort to keep it on them and with all the new Gadgets on the Xbox controller aiming is alot easier than you think. also if they help controller players to much then the cronus and strikepack users will instantly have a win. Also its not the aim assist that need to change its the response curve type. BF is using Linear curve type which is a Straight line from 0 to 100. if it was Standard curve type it would be more gradual. so you can control your aim easier. Look up the curve types for controller on google i hope that can explain things better for you.
  • Aim assist is still totally broken. 90% of the time absolut no slow down or snap on. 10% superstrong to the point that you can't choose your target! Xbox series X and Xbox series S.
