Any ideas how to get the Origin In game overlay to turn off?

My friend purchased BF2042 as a gift for me while it was on sale on Steam, the problem I am having is that even though I have Origin in game overlay turned off in the Origin launcher when steam launc...

hi buddy its a known bug that you cannot disable ingame overlay, there is a workaround, find the origin folder under program files and rename igo64.dll to something like igo64old.dll. that prevents the overlay from loading. i had the exact same problem.
