same thing as everyone else. ATT fiber west coast. Tried changing DNS rebooting router/modem. Using a VPN works. I did notice ATT had been sucking occasionally for about a month with just bad latency for a lot of web sites and also when 2042 was working. Another thing i read somewhere else and first hand is at 10:30 pm yesterday PDT, i was able to connect without the VPN and thought maybe this was fixed. I noticed someone else had said that it worked after a 11 PM the prior day as well. So maybe amount of people using the web is impacting this as well.
To me seems like its a hand check with the 2042 and a load balancer during peak times. I'm not sure why a VPN works but i'm guessing its using a different server/Hop at that stage
I think its ATT fault with the backbone provider just because of the other issues i experienced with latency in the past month.
If you talk to support in their forum its like talking to someone in 3rd grade and they are no help. Basically all they will do is send someone out and confirm "yup... looks like its not working." Really you couldn't take our word for that? pathetic how crappy every company is.
