Audio issues using Discord and 2042 after S6 update.

Hey ya'll, I've never had this problem over the course of the entire game that I can remember... On my very first start up since the S6 update my audio cut out for a few seconds, and then later the entirety of the game's audio became garbly when I loaded back to the menu, it was like corrupted sounding! I restarted and kept trying, and noticed Discord bugging out, and game audio cutting more. When Discord bugged out one time it turned the Krisp noise suppression off by itself for some reason.

For specific Discord bugs, I've noticed Discord "animations" are laggy (my own lit up nametag is lagging behind when I'm actually speaking), and my audio is physically lagged behind too once the game is open. That is, I am a few seconds behind compared to normal when hearing and responding to friends on Discord. It's like the game is adding multiple seconds of latency to my discord connection or something. This immediately fixes again once the game is closed.

For reference I am using a Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 Gen 2 for my main audio. I have been using this for years with no issues in any other game, so issues any other Battlefield, nor even 2042 up until just now. I will attach a DX Diag. here as well.

I have installed the latest GPU driver for my 3080, tried verifying game files and Steam did say it found a few to replace, but alas the issue persists. I have cleared EA app cache in the 'app recovery' menu, but that was more to solve the launching issues we were all having, so that clearly didn't help with this audio issue either. I will attempt to update my Scarlett drivers next, but somehow I doubt it's a Focusrite issue...

Hey there, after the update 6.3 on 30/01/24 :

I set back the buffersize to 128 and i play few game without any glitch of sound.

It seems to work like before the 6.0 update. I feel it is way better.

I have also check with LatencyMon and it's all green and seem to not overprocess.

I use latest driver of Focusrite 3.17. But i think it could also be good for other brand audio interface.

If someone can confirm please? maybe @JD_W0LF ?

I'll have to get back to you. I have updated my Focusrite driver as well but haven't had a chance to test battlefield buffer sizes yet. Give me a couple days and I'll let you know what I find.

Okay I put some time aside to test tonight, I did one full round of 128 CQ with no issues and half a round of Redacted CQ with no issue on buffer size: 128 so far. It's likely solved

  • Hey, Thank you for your time and for testing @JD_W0LF .

I didn't see any informations about it in the maj update. It took time since october but i hope we never experience this again.

Still testing but really seems solved. I feel the game is more fluid also.

Appreciate if there is some more reviews about it.

Yeah there was no mention of it, but it seems to be solved. I played another couple hours on 128 buffer and had 0 issues with audio. If anyone else is having any Focusrite issues still, check for new drivers as they did drop one recently. Thanks again @SP0000kS for your time and testing as well. ❤️
