Audio stutters, losing audio on Discord

Coming back from around a years break off of BF2042, I was met with constant horrible audio stutters/freezes/cutouts with CPU usage down to around 40-50% with occasional spikes using a user.cfg. Discord loses audio launching the game when I assume EA AC does some sort of loading or checks and later on loses audio in match every few seconds when a stutter happens, forcing me to constantly refresh my audio devices in Discord settings. Audio stutters still persist even without any background applications like Discord running.

This also happens in BFV when launched through Steam, 2042 is also launched through Steam and interestingly BF1 which is launched only through the EA app does not suffer the same issues. Also only BFV and BF2042 are on the EA AC installer while BF1 is not, so could BF1 possibly have a different version of EA AC that isn't broken in this way?

-Hardware acceleration disabled in Discord

-Verifying game files on Steam (returns 3 missing files each time I open and close the game)

-Done a recent reinstall of Windows 10 and 11, tried fresh drivers and old drivers on GPU
-Clearing caches
-Reinstalled the game twice on both OS on diffferent SSDs.
-Tried without any type of overclocking even with XMP and EXPO off.
-Tried with SMT and SVM off, no dice.
-Tried onboard audio aswell as an external dac.
-Tried an Nvidia GPU
-Latest BIOS flashed

  • @Monkinub  Did ya check youre MiniFuse Control Center.exe
    for any delays ?
Made sure there is not any USB interupts by other apps and/or hardware , or even energy saving modes ats hardware/software settings  ?

    Cheers

  • @Rokebo73 Yep, problem persists even without the minifuse plugged in or its drivers installed which is when I tested my onboard audio, still had the same audio skipping/cutting out issue. Unplugged every USB device apart from mouse and keyboard. Power settings in Windows were set to High performance and any type of ecomode disabled in BIOS. LatencyMon only reports a delay when BF is running, less in menu and more often in a match when theres more audio happening anyway.

I did try some different settings in the profile file in the documents as well which seemed to help a bit with the skipping? but not completely remove it.

    The settings were:
    GstAudio.AudioQuality 4
    GstAudio.SoundSystemSize 64
which seemed to help in older games based on some videos but didn't sadly help here.

I have the same problem with sound! Some poppings, cutouts generally when a jet passes overhead... The sound of the game starts to pop and crackle
