Battlefield 2042 BSOD as soon as I join a match

As title says, I can be in main menu, change options, whatever as long as I like, but the instant I try to join a match, I blue screen. Tried all the regular things of reinstalling, checking integrity, I reinstalled EAC which seemed to have a problem, as well as the EA app itself. I also tried the Memory Integrity fix.

Still I bluescreen. Please Help

@Blaire_Shadowpaw No ya dont need to update bios if ya do a CMOS reset.
Check youre MB manual how to do a CMOS rest.
Some where close at battery , at youre MB is a cmos rest jumper (2 pins) thaty need to be connected for some seconds (while power is disconnected from MB).

This will do a HARD RESET BIOS , bios will not downgrade, it only reset all bios settings to factory defaults.

Then test game again without changing settings in bios first !

    Cheers

@Blaire_Shadowpaw  i see indeed multiple bluescreens errors.
    Also an ICUE error.

The blue screen error AV_nt!RtlpxVirtualUnwind <-- ya need to check somedrivers or/and hardware issues.
Unfortunally its hard to get the culprit of this erro, cause ya need to invesitgate youre crash dumps (if one or maore are created.
    Also check EVENTVIEWER for erros.

This can help ya a little more, but ya need to investigate crashdumps/eventviewer for more detail abnout those BSODS:

    1. Update Drivers: Ensure that all your device drivers, especially graphics, network, and storage drivers, are up to date. Check the manufacturer's website for the latest versions.

    2. Check for Hardware Issues: Run hardware diagnostics to check for issues with your RAM, CPU, or other hardware components. Memory issues can often lead to IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL errors.

    3. Review Recent Changes: Consider any recent changes to your system, such as new hardware installations, driver updates, or software installations. If the issue started after a specific change, it could be related.

    4. Check for Windows Updates: Ensure that your operating system is up to date. Windows updates often include bug fixes and patches for known issues.

    5. Use Windows Memory Diagnostic: Run the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool to check for memory-related issues.

    6. Review Event Logs: Check the Windows Event Viewer for any additional information or error messages leading up to the crash.

Keep us up to date , Cheers!!!

ps when did ya bios update ? Did load optimized defgaults and intel baseline settings set ?
Sometime ya need to HARD RESET CMOS by connecting 2 pins (jumper) and redo bios settings.

  • The BSOD error I'm getting is the IQRL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I've never seen the one you have put there.

I have recently reinstalled everything, including windows, and have made sure they're entirely up to date, as well as put the PC in with a technician to specifically check all parts for hardware problems due to a different issue which was fixed and resolved.

I recently updated my bios as recently as the 20th, and this was happening before that as well.

  • There also seems to be no errors happening before the bluescreen. I turned off XMP on my bios and got error 0x000001aa.

idk how to send over the crashdump files on this website, but I've located minidumps from windows and crashdumps from BF2042.

If I need to reset motherboard, I'll try that. Should I try the game before updating the bios again? Or after?

@Blaire_ShadowpawGood to read this solved youre ISSUE !
Dont forget to set bios settings again,
Not all at once, set 1 , save and reboot , test game, no issues ? change next bios setting , test ect ect, repeat till all settings are done !!

    Game On , Have Fun

Some MB need an hard reset (cmos reset) to solve issues like this one. (especially after a bios upgrade/update) !!!
Why ? <> its silicon, hardware and not always (most of the time never) perfect !!
