Battlefield 2042 Crashes each run

Things I have tried. disable everything in services. so on reboot nothing except bare essentials is running.. i get load screen then the game graphic's opening scene it last till satellite appear then crashes to desktop. if i try with game offline i get full satellite opener video played in a loop with "unable to connect to ea servers" Everything on PC is up to date.

using i7 10th gen 10700k

32 gig DD4 3200 fsb

Pilate Nvidia RTX 2060 Super

All background apps offline overlays turned off, even tried XMP off in bois, still crashes.

Seen many forums suggest clean boot of windows or re-install windows and only have BF 2042 installed and nothing else,

There so many forums of how to fix and videos. be nice to get a straight answer.

If the game can run on a 1080 Min spec and max spec 3080 why can't the game run using a 2060.

Even tried turning rtx off in Nvidia App swapping graphics to adaptive. still crashes.

After getting a dump file program to read the crash report it informed that I have left over ivona sapi5 files. but when i search manually to remove them PC cannot find then As i removed this software a good 6 months ago. might be traces left behind and this might be conflicting the game Checked regisitry and found to references of the program. so removed those.

However game still crashes

attached is dxdiag txt

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

  • Fixed the issue, thanks for help turned out default BF2042 settings is set to max RTX 100% and Memory GPU 9.7 gig. My card only 8. So I lowered RTX to 50% swapped 3d rendering to graphics GPU. And swapped from performance to quality and it ran. Without issues.

    Saved mr forking out £270 for a 3060 super.

    Thanks for you're reply

  • Crashing each run points to a corrupt or dated driver. It could be any driver, not just video. So, you'll want to make sure all drivers for all devices are up-to-date. FWIW - There is a new NVIDIA driver this week that I downloaded and tried with BF2042 successfully.

    If you look at the Diagnostics section of that DXDIAG report, you will see CCleanerPerformanceOptimizerService.exe crashing numerous times. Fix the issues in your Diagnostics section and your game may run fine.
