Battlefield 2042 crashing PC

I cannot figure out what is causing my pc to crash after playing Battlefield 2042 for about 40 mins on average.

Here is my problem, starting since around 2 months ago, my pc started crashing randomly only when gaming, specifically Battlefield 2042 and Helldivers 2. I thought it was a windows update that was causing me to crash since it started happening once I updated windows. I rolled back and the problem went away for about a week before it started doing it again. I got a new install of windows (kept my settings/personal files) directly from microsoft since one of the errors I get was event ID 86 (the one where a SCEP certificate is not valid for AMD on A microsoft link or something). It worked, for about 3 days and then the problem persisted, some updates to the games also happened around this time as well as forced windows updates where I didn't have the option to get away from them. Well Helldivers 2 functioned normally from here on after, and so I thought I only crashed instense resource hogging games, but I only played Battlefield2042 on medium settings (tried high and low settings as well) and I still crash. I have other games which I think are more intense than those 2 but play just fine. My friends can play Battlefield 2042 with some lower spec pcs than me and play it just fine.

I have a log of just now when I crashed after 40 mins into the game to see if it's a hardware problem or not. I have done nultiple stress tests like on gpu, cpu, ram, used Samsung magician to check the health (ran tests as well) of my drives and they are healthy. I can play the game either 2 matches or 4 times and it randomly crashes (around 40-80mins), and usually after the first crash, I willl crash again within 30-40 mins.

So far on almost every crash windows fails to create a dump file so I can't even check what is causing it, but on the only dump files it creates a mnonth ago it was mainly software issue according to "whocrashed" application, which were resolved. My current main errors are Event ID 41 (63) Kernel-Power, 161 volmgr (where it fails to create dump file), 1796 TPM-WMI Secure Boot not enabled on machine, and 86 SCEP Certificate enrollment initialization (my pc workgroup and link) failed.

Only thing else left is to see if it is the power supply probably failing, but like I said I can play many other games just fine like asetto corsa on high settings, which is why I was hoping to see if someone can probably read the log and tell me it is a power issue or somehting else.

I built this pc myself, so here are the specs if anyone asks because even MS support was suggesting my pc is not good enough for gaming on the recent games.....-_-

Ryzen 5700X (Modified Cryorig C7 cooler with Noctua NHL9 fan)
Asus ROG B550-i
EVGA 3060Ti XC (using PCIE 4.0 riser cable)
Crucial Ballistix 32GB (2x16gb) @ 3600MHz
4TB storage (2 x 2TB Samsung 980 PRO)

600W Enhance 7660B Flex-ATX PSU

Yes this is a tiny PC build (sandwhich style) but I have plenty of air flow from 2 side panels and have 2 top fans getting rid of the hot air by pushing it out of the case on top; the rear has the psu fan outwards to push out the hot air there. I have had this pc for almost 3 years already.

  • Edit I have eevrything up to date. I use DDU to uninstall my gpu drivers and NVCleanInstall to install the latest gpu drivers. My bios is up to date, as well as other updates, I got past the dreaded windows 10 security update/patch frfom January as well.

Also I did a stress test for about 45-50 mins using all these 4 at once : Prim95, FurMark, MSI Kombustor, and MemTest64, no issues besides the typical system geting unreponsive here and there. Stress tests were done 5/20/24 at like 4am.

I am starting to suspect that it's an issue with BF2042 itself.

Also just did a clearing of DirectX cache which I realized i have not done since around Season 2 of BF2042.

@Fimbulwinter04   hey man, your GPU need an PSU from minimal 550 watt !
If ya run 600 watt PSU then i think you got a little low Wattage for the whole system !!!
Also youre CPU is eating easy 60 til 100 watt power, and more !
Dont forget the drives, Leds , AIO and fans ya got installed need also WATTAGE to run properly to.
Youre pushing youre PSU to the max and even beyound the max.

Its possible a security get triggered in youre PSU to shut down for protection.

This protect only youre PSU, but as soon system powers down, CPU and GPU stops with cooling ,

and could get damaged as soon there is no airflow , running AIO pump !!!!!!!!!!!! <-- start up system ASAP !!!!!!
Or its even possible youre total system (motherboard) gets not enough Wattage, gets unstable ,  why some errors occure (hardware errors) and shutdown system.

Ya need at least 850 watt PSU , or even higher ,

(higher is better -->> it will also use less power then and grants better stability, it also generate less heat).

It all depends on the hardware ya got installed and/or

connected (headphone, keyboard , mouse , dongles , external drives ect ect ect)

Also make sure ya cooling is ok, use HARDWAREINFO64 to check temps, and also keep and eye at the Wattage thats is been used by youre system when ya run software, bf2042 for example.
Remember, sometimes there are peaks of Wattage needed that go beyound youre 600Watt psu 😉

    Cheers

PS pushing youre PSU all the time to the max and/or beyound it could damage/break youre PSU - if it isnt already damaged 😉
When ya push youre PSU all the time to the max it will also generate more HEAT

Make sure PSU take in air from outside the case, and not use the air thats already in youre case (thats already wam)

    keep us uptodate please !
