Battlefield 2042 Crashing with high end PC

My Battlefield 2042 keeps crashing and has been since I got 🏈 new PC's. I built my first new one about 2 months ago hoping to play some 2042. My game kept on freezing, and then continuing to crash every 5-15 minutes. I thought perhaps some of the parts were faulty, so I returned all my parts, and ordered even better ones. These are my specs,

Specs:

Intel Core i7-13700k

32GB 6000mhz DDR5

ASUS TUF RTX 3070 TI

Samsung 980 PRO 500GB NVME

ASUS TUF z690 Gaming Motherboard

1200-WATT power supply

After building the even newer PC, I immediately went to go install 2042. I started playing for a solid 30 minutes, and all of a sudden, it crashed the exact same way as before. Here was the error it gave me.

DirectX Error

DirextX function

"m_d3d12PipelineLibrary1->LoadPipeline(HashStrDx12(key),

&desc, FB_IID_PPV_ARGS(&pipelineState))" failed with

E_OUTOFMEMORY("Direct3D could not allocate sufficient

memory to complete the call."). GPU: "NVIDIA GeForce RTX

3070 Ti", Driver: 51748.

D:\dev\TnT\LocalPackages\RenderCore2\2.04.00-ks\source\pla

tform\PcDx12\PipelineLibraryPcDx12.cpp

I have tried rolling back drivers to numerous different drivers. My old PC had a 7700k and a GTX 1060 6GB, it never crashed like this. I have tried repairing game files, I have tried lowering settings, I have tried pretty much everything, any suggestions or help? Would be GREATLY appreciated.

@boomdelakaka  Could you try the following: Putting everything to ultra except terrain and add it as high and see if that helps.

It's like BF2042 is crashing with any better cards out there. Playing with several friends and only the ones with 30-series (Nvidia) or higher are getting these crashes...

  • Try lowering the CPU clock slightly. There a couple of threads regarding that issue and its solution.

  •

IN THE ORDER I TRIED THEM FOR MY AMD GPU, INTEL CPU

    a. Verify Game

    b. Updating Bios to the latest version

    c. Updating Graphics Card

    d. Make a user.cfg file and do the following

    Thread.ProcessorCount 14

    Thread.MinFreeProcessorCount 0

    GstRender.Thread.MaxProcessorCount 20

    Thread.JobThreadPriority 0

    Thread.MaxProcessorCount 14

Finding how to adjust the CPU core and processors, matching system (14 was my Core, 20 was my processor, go to task manager under CPU)

    e. In AMD adrenalin, changing the GPU frequency to the factory recommended for the max, and set min to 1500.

    f. Deleting Game, reinstall

    g. Updating Config Filecertifies this version had better chance.

    h. Rolling back Graphics Card, specifically to WQHL version of AMD 6700xt, since windows

    i. Deleting EA Desktop Cache in Appdata Roaming

    j. Deleting EA Desktop Caches in Appdata Local

    k. Clearing Computer storage by 150+GB making sure it wasn't the SSD being slow and shutting down

     l. Checking the Battlefield2042 Crash dumps, Go to Users > YourUser > Documents > Battlefield 2042 > Crash Dumps & take most recent one.

    m. With the above Downloaded WinDbg to read the Crash Dump what the problem was related too, found it was related to the AMD software, so I figured the graphics card update was unstable and rolled it back to a previous window certified version. Maybe something else from dump for you.

    n. Run as Administrator also.

    - Worked after those attempts, confident rolling back drivers fixed the issue.

*Did not try and set CPU affinity or priority

Don't have NVIDIA but I imagine googling GeForce and the prompt after would show you how to do it. Before this point my game would be fine in menu, game loads quick and after 3 mins crashes, going on for 2 weeks. These fixes worked all of them, I believe most beneficial was rolling back the AMD driver as you can read the crash dump after downloading Windows' WinDbg. Also altering the CPU core and processor count to match your system, the Caches files important also. Either way try them all see if it helps.
