Also, I forgot to mention, I did go through all the possible solutions with EA customer service chat, but eventually they asked me to post here, hence why I'm making this post.
I had the same problem for days. I tried everything short of a new windows install. This is what worked for me.
navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2042
You will see this:
preloader_l.dll_b
EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher.dll_b
EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher.exe_b
Rename each and remove "_b " from the extension
Then select all
Go to properties
Set each file to read only
I couldn't find a fix anywhere not even from Dice/Ea. I hope this helps someone out there. Cheers
