Battlefield 2042 Random Crashes

Hello everyone,

I have been having crashes in 2042 since its inception.

I played this game in 3 different configurations and I can say that aside from needing a very stable overclock, you HAVE TO disable any type of memory overclocking or tweaked timings/frequency.

Basically disable Intel XMP or AMD EXPO. Let the ram be at standard speeds, most like a downclock and a performance loss in other apps/games, but its the only solution for this game.

Game is just still in development.

  • I never had that issue try verifying game files while running the ea app as admin.

  • i solved my issue that i had with the game by being lucky that windows update did a change in bios i did not know of ^^.

I have 6900Xt and R9 5900x 16 gig ram. My game worked kinda fine outside but once inside my game started to lag alot. My GPU usage dropped so my CPU took the hit.

In the begining of games when there is alot of other players around my fps droped to like 5-20 fps. So the update changed my pcie16 port to Gen 3 in bios. It was Auto as standard. But i set mine to Gen 4 and now my game works flawless no fps drops i run evrything at ultra and have like 80-95 fps when there is full on war on 128 players maps. Indoors aswell. So im guessing this game is coded so that if its on auto it does not utilized the full gpu there for running the port on Gen3 having my CPU take the hit. But im no expert 🙂 Just glad that after like 2 years i can play this game like it was meant to be played.

My issue might help solve it for some one more 🙂

  • Same issue. I dont want to close xmp and why should I ? Just for broken game ! EA needs to fix this problem its not about compatibility or xmp.

@capucimo  if memory is not compatible with youre cpu for example, then EA / Dice cant fix that !
The partnumber(s) of your memory are they in the QVL , worth to check !

Could you post dxdiag again please !

    Thanks

  • Do you still have this problem? I did every possible thing on the internet. still, I getting random crashes with no error. and I don't know what to do other than stop playing this * game from DICE. BF 1 fine / BF V play 5 hr. no problem. Forza / R6 / OW2 / Dragon Dogma 2 you name it my PC play all without a dam issue. BUT BF2042!!! God have mercy on this * game.

Try removing your memory XMP profile.

Then clear the cache folder in the documents/battlefield 2042

    Verify game files

    Play
