Two more instances of restarts.
Manifest, latv4 was gunning 50mm shooting at wildcat, driver popped thermal smoke, instantly crashed within 1sec. <3mins loading into the round.
Noshahr Canals crashed on load in...?!? didn't see, was writing in this txt doc.
played 2 rounds after with no issue. one on spearhead, and other on renewal.
installed software to downclock gpu next time playing. hope for better luck.
dxdiag had no useful updates during/after the restarts.
didn't have much issue with temps.
It has been a while. I haven't played too much, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say downclocking the GPU has improved the stability of the game so far.

Can't resist to log in and comment about this but sorry downclocking the GPU does not solve the issue at all.
For my case, i9 10850k (undervolted 4.8ghz from 5ghz *Because of BF2042* 1.25v) RTX 3070ti (undervolted 1920mhz from 1950mhz, 0.875mV)
Temps for GPU <63°C and CPU 80-90°C .Only this game makes my PC reboot, other games like warzone 2 , apex or diablo 4, etc.
tried config notepad settings too doesn't work.
Capped FPS starting from 144, 120, 80 does not work.Previously on most patches, I do not have this problem at all and my CPU temps are <70ish °C.

Just FYI: Max boost reference frequency for RTX 3070ti is 1770 MHz

I did downclock the GPU by quite a lot. From a boost clock of 1950mhz to 1765mhz (-185mhz). Did not actually change any voltage/power settings, though.
- 2 years ago@MADrag0n You are getting your facts wrong.
Those specs that you are looking at does not mean anything compared to real world frequency. Go search any reviewer for 3070 ti on youtube and you will understand.
Same goes to SSD, A SSD that is worth1TB of space, does not mean you get 1 TB of memory space.
Theory does not always transit/apply to practical in REAL LIFE. - 2 years ago
@NATURALxNINE
I'm clearly understanding what is "reference frequency". I'm clearly understanding the difference between reference and overclocked frequencies. I'm not understanding what is "real world frequency".
It's your issues if u do not accept information about GPU working parameters from GPUs chips developer itself, and then it's your problem if your GPU work in some cases not as intended...And your analogy with the size of the SSD is not appropriate at all. If you buy something with memory/storage, the device will have exactly that much memory, but with nuances: 1) some amount of memory may already be occupied and unavailable to the user; 2) the number of the memory size itself can be calculated in different ways: using standard SI metric prefixes or using the traditional calculation of the Binary System; as calculated, always indicated on the product package.

U did it and what? The problem persist? - 2 years ago@MADrag0n
Like I said before, it seems to have helped. Hasn't restarted in a while. - 2 years ago@blckbird2002
Good. Happy gaming. - 2 years ago
Sorry for wall of text, just wanted to post an update.
The game has been restarting the PC again ever since the 5.3.0 update. I've since just given up and updated to newer nvidia drivers for newer games since the old driver wasn't helping anymore. The GPU downclock wasn't helping anymore either (hey, at least it worked for like 2 months).
Though, like I've said before, there's something about the smoke in this game that makes my PC restart itself. 99% of the time, there has been some type of smoke on the screen (whether it's vehicle smoke, smoke grenades, smoke grenade launcher smoke it doesn't matter). My own smokes don't seem to be a problem, but as soon as another player uses smoke it's a tossup on whether it would crash or not. An example would be a CO-OP breakthrough round on orbital (the one with the rocket launch iirc) where I was pretty much only using the smoke grenade launcher as Angel to resupply myself (one of the few things I can still get ranks on in solo/co-op), and it was fine all the way till the end when i noticed my friend fire his smoke grenade launcher once (i heard it) and immediately restarted my PC. We only play on 64 player servers since one of my friends runs on older hardware (at least they don't crash though they do sometimes get stuck with a black loading screen in between rounds).
I wouldn't be surprised if this game was what bricked my previous M.2 drive. I'm just tired of jumping through hoops trying to deal with this issue that only affects this game.
A thought just occurred to me while writing this rant in frustration... I need to start keeping track of whether the guns I'm using have IR scopes or not... No promises, though, since I've stopped playing unless my friends are playing and I've crashed at least once every other time we play.
Edit: update 5.3 , not 5.2

My PC used to crash and power cycle. It's usually caused by RAM timing issues or CPU voltage issues.
HCI Memtest is a good ram memory tester.

This is clearly a bad set of coding. I doubt it will ever be resolved.
