Summarize your bug Basically I am on PC and my friend is on PS4 we both have crossplay enabled but everytime we go to ad each others ea ids which apparently is just our screen names it says that neither of us exist we then try to type in something close to it and other players will pop up but we can't find each other. I have noticed that a few other people have had this issue and I just want this to be fixed asap as I want to play battlefield with the homie.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Maybe go onto pc then someone else on a console and try to add each other I don't know if it happens to everyone but it does happen to a select few clearly.
What happens when the bug occurs? What happens is I can't find my friends name when I go to add him
What should be happening instead? I should be adding him is what should be happening
I have spelt his name correct closed my game and tried closing it more then once he has tried to add me as well and it doesn't work for him either he has the exact same problem.
Hey @Just_Painx,
Unfortunately cross-play between PC and Gen4 consoles is not possible. Only PC and Gen5 (current gen) consoles.
This is the cross-play list as follows:
Players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One can play with and against each other, but not with players on PC, PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S - even with cross-play turned on.
In Battlefield 2042, we want to make sure the experience is fair and fun for everyone. We don’t want players on Xbox One and Playstation 4 to have a bad time because they’re using older hardware, so we’ve set things up to prevent that.
One of the things we’ve done to keep performance stable is to reduce the scale of the battles in All-Out Warfare a little. So if you’re playing on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you’ll be in 64-player battles rather than 128-player ones (128-players is for PC and Gen5 consoles only). This reduced battle size also means you can only matchmake with and against players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
More information about Battlefield 2042 cross-play can be found on our website:
