battlefield 2042 Wont Launch

same issue - tried everything, uninstalled anti-virus, disabled all windows security. No webroot, uninstalled the Norton, and turned off all the windows defender and firewall stuff, run as admin also turned on for bf2042 exe and launcher.

Easy cheat starts, runs for 14 seconds, and everything gets kicked back out to Origin launcher - same thing happens with EA launcher.

Basically, can't get passed the splash screen, tried all other things OP mentioned - not joy.

RTX3060 Laptop GPU, not sure what my settings are since i can't get into the game.

Hey, @riazrules  can you try a clean boot to see if any programs are messing with Battlefield 2042 and turn off any overlay programs, such as Discord or Nvidia experience.

Can you add a Dxdiag so we can see what hardware and drivers you have?

Having the same issue. Basically, when you hit run, the anticheat bf2042 splash screen launches and then nothing happens.

I am running Windows 11.  When I look at task manager, i can see BF2042.exe running and just sitting there idle along with easyanticheat.exe.

What I have done!

- Done a reinstall of both EA app and BF 2042

- Done a repair of the game

- Gave Admin Access to the BF 2042 exe.

- Uninstalled Nortan

- Did a Clean Boot as outlined by @EA_Atic 

- Disabled the LightingService service as someone mentioned that caused a problem for them

- Disabled overlays on nvidia experience and discord.

- Disabled Windows Firewall

This seems to be a common issue, so hoping there is a "clear" resolution soon

Followed most of these same steps to no avail.

My game was running fine just a few days ago. All I did was make a new admin account on my PC, and reinstalled the game and now it doesn't work at all.

Updated Drivers

Cleared Steam Download Cache

Disabled G-SYNC

Verified game files

Cleared EA App cache

reinstalled the game, reinstalled EA App

Disabled Firewall

Gave admin access to the game and launcher for all users

Disabled nvidia, discord, and steam overlays

I have a 4090, 13900k, 64GB RAM, 1.5TB available SSD storage. Should have absolutely no issues :/

I was having a similar issue to the sounds of this one and I managed to find a solution to get my game working. I don't know if you guys had the same problem that my PC did or if this solution would work for you, but I thought it worth sharing just in case.

My issue was that I would access BF2042 through either Steam, the EA app or through opening it up directly via the Windows Start Menu. The initial screen would boot up featuring the BF2042 intro screen and the Easy Anti-Cheat bar, after which it would transition to a collapsed black screen but would shut right off shortly thereafter. No warning, no error, just shut off. If I accessed Steam to try again, this process would repeat over and over. That was my problem.

The solution that fixed it was rather simple. I just checked for the game's file integrity using Steam. This YouTube video shows how it's done (starting at the 2:06 mark) https://youtu.be/RM4py6-dF8Q?t=126 Once I ran the process, Steam said it found some issues with the game's files on my PC (and apparently, it had rectified them too, I guess). After consideration, it was clear my actions had been the fault in all this. For other reasons, I had deleted then reinstalled BF2042 to fix a separate issue and I think with me restoring some old files from the recycle bin, deleting some I thought were unnecessary duplicates, yada yada yada, the game never installed correctly in the first place. But using steam to check out the game's integrity managed to restore the whole thing to working order.

I didn't do anything beyond that - it was just this one action. Like I said, it might not be enough for you guys whose problems could potentially be more serious than this, but I still thought it'd be worth mentioning. Regardless, I hope you guys have luck fixing your situations.
