Thanks for the suggestion! When I go to C:\Program Files\EA Games the folder is empty. There is nothing in it at all, even with "Show Hidden Files" enabled.
I have desktop shortcuts for all three games after reinstalling them last night. I tried right clicking the BF 2042 shortcut but don't see an option to run as admin.
I don't understand why uninstalling and reinstalling the games didn't replace all those folders. Software can be such a pain....

@LeadM4gnet its possible some issue prefend uninstall/delete even install from programs/folders , maybe some admin rights, or even folder/file issues .
Ya could use REVOUNINSTALLER to uninstall everything , game platform, game, ea ac ect ect
If ya use revouninstaller , tick the box ADVANCED if ya uninstalled the software.
it will search for any registry keys , files and folder leftovers and will delete them to when ya select them ALL and deleted them..
Now reboot system and reinstall all again.
PS its possible ya need to manually delete some EA AC and EA folders in appdata roming and local , and also in ProgramData folder.
Cheers (update us and install EA DESKTOP or the platform ya did buy bf2042 on as an ADMINISTRATOR).
If none does help, try to add a new account at your windows and start install BF2042/gameplatform and EA AC again.
Still some issues , then check windows and drives for any issues with SFC / SCANNOW and CHKDSK / F

Thanks for replying, man. I appreciate it. I really don't want to install this and try that for weeks, mess up my registry, and get nowhere.
It seems like the problem is either:
1. A corrupted file somewhere on my PC.
2. A corrupted file somewhere at
A) Steam
B) EA
If it's a corrupted file somewhere at Steam or EA I'm SOL. I can't get anywhere in their support feedback loop.
What if I just reset my PC and reinstall Windows? If it's on my PC wouldn't a complete reset sort it out? What do you think?

Windows get cluttered with all kind of software , registry keys , temp files, ect ect ect and could get in an error.
There are many tools to cleanup system , but can also do more harm to the system <- becarefull with 3rd party cleanup tools.
A fresh install will make system faster and stabel. Only install thats needed for the system.
Then install game(s) and test it !
I always do a fresh , new windows install every +/- year , to keep it all speedy , stable and clean 😉

OK, I'll give that a try first chance I get. I'm busy the next few days but when I have time to reset and reinstall everything I'll let you know if it works.
Thanks again for your advice!
