Indeed. I even factory reset my router today and 3 games in..freeze..crash..back to my xbox x home screen. There is something wrong with either the servers on EA's end or one of the earlier updates caused this. I had no issue with this till around February this year. March maybe? I think there was an update around that time. I cannot think of anything I have not tried. Uninstall. Reinstall. Factory resets. Clearing caches. Addresses. Saved files. Changing resolution. Changing gamer tags. I also bought a new Cat cable. The game is a great game. No matter what people say, it is still super fun after all this time and all the updates. Except yall need to come down hard on the cheaters. However, I get so frustrated now that I cringe when I play and days will go by and I sucker myself into playing and disconnect. Poof. Game disconnects me again. It has taken all the fun out of this game.
- @NinjjaBoyy10 I think the main thing is.. we shouldn't have to be doing all these steps in the first place. How many other games make you take such an extensive troubleshooting ordeal. I could understand if someone's hardware was off and something like that would potentially fix it or maybe right at the start of the game first coming out but when there's so many people having to do the same thing and it's getting no result even 8 months later.. this is stupid. I love the battlefield games, always have done, but this is killing my love for them.
- @MuddPunk27 My thoughts exactly, been chasing this issue for months and initially they made it sound like my Xbox was faulty. Which I thought was strange as no other issues on any other game. Contact Microsoft and they told me they have received numerous reports and it’s EA’s issue. Contact EA and they still haven’t even acknowledged that it’s an issue on their end.
- @Jord4n845 Its an absolute joke. EA always seem to pass the blame or just become totally oblivious to situations and just outright blank everything. Transparency or even ownership to an issue gets respect. This does not. I don't even know why I always give them the benefit of the doubt 😂

Hey @MuddPunk27 @Jord4n845 @NinjjaBoyy10 Thanks for letting us know about this, I wanted to confirm when this happens do you have anything else running in the Xbox quick resume feature? Also, are you on any insider builds of the Xbox's operating system?
- @EA_Illium No I don't have anything else running on quick resume, I did initially think this, but I unplugged my Xbox for two days and only loaded up battlefield and still had the same outcome.
Currently I'm not on any insider ring, I was on alpha ring for a few years but I got fed up with the constant "We need to update your console" whenever I was playing a multiplayer game 😂 - @EA_Illium No i don’t have anything on quick resume and no I’m not part of the insider builds.
Nothing in quick resume..no i havent joined any gangs. I just did a factory reset and cleared everything out. Something is severing out connections to the ea servers hosting bf 2042. I am not sure if there is some log we can find on our xbox..i just dont have a clue.
So I did the unthinkable. I actually factory reset my x box x last night. Wiped the thing clean. Did not leave any games or apps or settings. The fact that I even had to do this is just sad. I set up the few games I have on it. I did not reinstall any apps. Got all my connections set up. Did not get a chance to play till midnight last night. I played for a solid hour. With how games go slow or fast or you get dropped into a game that is almost over (fix that please!!!!), I was able to get through 5 games and no crash. That said. I am almost certain that the RNG god's had something to do with it. I am not even remotely thinking it is an app. The app's I had, were there way before the crashing began. Those app's were just the ones that your system says hey, we recommend these. So, I am going to try 5-10 games this morning and if by some miracle nothing happens, I will try late in the evening again and see what happens. I know some of you may have already done a complete reset. I will let everyone know what happens this morning. I am on the East coast and it is 0614 am. It will be after 9 am when I post the outcome.
Ok so I just finished playing about an hour and 20 minutes straight of bf2042 on my x box x. I played breakthrough and conquest. It finally just froze up on me and booted me back to my x box x screen. I am not sure what to think. A complete reset seemed to temporarily fix it. Usually I get through 2 games maybe 3 before it does this. It is definitely not an app. Not any other game causing it. Something is disconnecting/booting us from the EA servers.
- @MuGuce Well I had a couple of solid games today.. still got booted a handful of times, but felt a little more stable. Weird.
- @MuGuce I take my last comment back. Lasted less than 5 minutes on Breakthrough.. and less than 2 minutes on Rush Hardcore on Portal. Here comes the stress again 😒
Well no response since early yesterday from the devs. Guess they are done with us.

Hey everyone, A quick question are we crashing to dashboard of Xbox or does the Xbox completely shutdown?

- @EA_Atic Always been straight to dashboard for me. Never had a full console shutdown. I only purchased the game a week ago.
@EA_AticI also managed to get some recordings but I don't know how to upload them on here. I always get wrong format or the file is too big.
Edit: I even tried cutting the videos down and tried to zip and rar them, but still got an error uploading.

What should be happening instead? Not crashing on every match.I am glad I am not the only one having these crashes on Series X. There is no pattern leading up to the crash.

In my situation, everything is up to date, have attempted reinstall and resetting the PSU in the past but nothing works. The frequency of the crashes differs from version to version, but the last few versions (maybe two versions) are just unplayable.
- @EA_Atic I get a mixture. 1 - 2 hard crashes that turn off the Xbox, and 2 - 5 crashes to desktop. I’m on series x as well. Only happens with the series x version of the game. Xbox one version doesn’t crash but is a pain to play due to the stutter and input lag.
Crashes to desktop are just instant, no warning it’s coming. The hard crashes are usually preceded by a few seconds of stutter then game freeze/Xbox becomes unresponsive and a shut down.
Tried all the steps and have chatted to a help specialist to try to resolve. Have reinstalled the game and also factory reset my Xbox but it didn’t resolve the issue.
It’s not every game, I can get 1 or 2 full games sometimes but it is a daily occurrence. I have also many Crashes on my Xbox Series X, but only when I play BF2042...It sucks..i cannot play That Game..any Updates about That ????
Why is this thread still going? This has been an issue since last November. There are still a ton of us out there having this issue. I am still having the issue on my X box x. I have done everything they have asked. Twice. Sometimes 3 times. Still crashing to my x box dashboard. The servers are kicking people. Some more than others. This is an EA issue. Not ours but they keep on insisting with asking the same questions. I understand that there is a procedure to follow. That the devs have to start where they were trained and send it up and from there..that is where the failure on EA's part is apparent. The leadership is not making this a priority. Somewhere the scope of providing an ultimate gaming experience got lost. This is an issue that will not be fixed anytime soon. The game has become an ulcer to play. The joy in it is almost gone. Sitting there with your friends. Enjoying the stupid that exists. The cheaters pissing people off. Talking smack. Listening to people cry about how they got robbed (all of this makes for a fun game and you know it) Having the game of your life. The kills are rolling in. You cant miss. You cant die. You know you got that number one spot or at least top 5..and BAM. Freeze. Done. Goodbye. Your system shuts off or it crashes to the home screen of your xbox x or whatever platform you are on. We are all wasting our time here. You might as well just play something else or accept that we do not matter to those in charge.

Saw you on a similar thread a few weeks ago. Issue has been ongoing for months tried All troubleshooting and answered tonnes of questions about our set ups etc. still no fix, can you even confirm that this is an issue you are aware of and looking to fix? Lately I've been trying to play batlefield 2042, and it can't be called a normal game.

Problems with the game battlefield 2042:
- game crashes,
- game shuts down at random times to dashboard,
- game shuts down and shuts down the console,
- the game shuts down when the resolution on the console is set to 1080p 60 Hz or 120 Hz,
- game shuts down when 1440p 60 Hz or 120 Hz resolution is set,
the game shuts down when VRR is enabled/disabled,
Restored the console to factory settings, I tested three different systems with insider and the problem is the same. I restored the console to factory settings and installed ONLY battlefield 2042 - the above problems still occur.The problem did not occur before the big update introducing seasons.
I checked the temperature of the console. There is a maximum of 50 degrees celsius at the warm air outlet. Other games work without any obstacles. Battlefield V, I, IV work fine and do not shut down.
No current solutions help.

My issue started after the first big update they did earlier this year. After that was when my crashes started to occur. Today, I could not even get into Conquest. I had to play other modes. This game is plagued with failure. HA..so I just checked on the status of the thread I had submitted and it was closed on August 5th lol. I guess they got tired of me or just gave up.
