I have completely removed OneDrive, but windows keeps putting the folder back in. I may have to reinstall Win 10 again.
Opened the mdmp file, actually many of them and they all came up with the same error.
@WhtFeather Not sure you've figured out how to fix this since.
That error appears to show up when not being able to process files correctly, which I believe relates directly to the OneNote folder that keeps getting created.
Part of the troubleshooting involves one to "Reset your PC" and "Keep my files" (so as not to lose data). That may be something to consider.

Hello @SterlingARCH3R. Thank you for what seems indeed to be a very comprehensive list of items to look at to optimise the PC experience. Have you measured the results of your suggestions? You can imagine people can be sceptic, with good reason, as so much internet advice goes around that are false or makes little difference. I mean I make changes to games myself, but I often wonder whether the differences are in my head or actually measurable.

@Maj_Meerkat Yes. Since your rig/setup may be different, I recommend pulling up performance indicators while making each change. For me, what I share all make an improvement.

I use a program from NVidia called frameview. It’s a really basic FPS and frametime recording tool that has an on screen display of useful information plus it can record your metrics and automatically loads it into an excel spreadsheet. When I first play a game this is the first thing I do and test all the game settings. for example I found with bf2042 that using directx 11 versus 12 made no differenece to fps or frametimes, also future frame rendering on or off made no difference. the preset graphics settings do make a big difference and also dlss turned onto quality mode gave me an extra 15 fps. your rig will be different. test test test.

I followed your guide & it worked great but now BF 2042 just had an update Fri/17th of Sept. Now my game locks up after a game & black screens. I went into my Nvidia 3D settings on the control panel & where u said set the BF2042.exe to priority it won't do it. I click on it it & it puts it in the spot but blinks right back to Adobe Acrobat which I have no idea why?? anyway there's no way to save the changes either. So what am I missing or doing wrong??
I even tried to add BF2042.exe from the list & it's a no go.
