BF2042 4070/5800X3D stutters

Hello!

Has anyone even experienced this issue? I've changed my GPU from 3070 to 4070, and after a few days I've started experiencing issues as seen in the video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOgkCiMhwnM

Basically, sort of...frame skipping + stuttering + camera stuttering in game? I don't know how to describe it since it looks so weird. In the main menu itself it just stutters every few seconds or so (with frame drops / GPU usage drops seen on the frame time graph).

My PC specs are: 5800X3D, 32GB RAM, 4070, game is on SSD. W10 x64 with latest updates. PSU -  FSP dagger pro 650W.

What I've tried so far:

-Made sure that GSync is disabled
-Disabled/enabled HAGS
-Completely reinstalled the game itself, removing any EA-related stuff from either documents or appdata
-Fully reinstalled the graphics driver using DDU, tried to roll back to May drivers too

-Since I've installed new versions of MSI Afterburner/RTSS after I got new GPU, tried to completely remove them as well

-I've had a stable -30 offset on 5800X3D for 9 months now, tried to remove it as well

Games that I've tested and they've been working fine:

-Days Gone

-Apex Legends

-Cyberpunk 2077 (with/without RT/Frame Gen)

-Witcher 3 (with/without RT/Frame Gen)

Stress tests that I've passed:

-3DMark Port Royale/Time Spy

-Unigine Superposition 8K preset, 1080p Extreme Preset

-Ran some Furmark too

Could you please point me in direction of troubleshooting here? I've attached dxdiag file but not sure it it'll be helpful

  • I have the same issue, tried everything from:

    reinstall W11

    dfifferent GFX/Mobo drivers

    different headsets and using speakers

    removing  all background apps

    change memory speeds

    My specs are:

    5900x

    7900 xtx (ASUS TUF)

I even tried my spare router just in case that was the issue.

  • There is nothing you can do, unfortunately. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING POSSIBLE. This is server side and there is no way to fix it on our end. Sad thing is, they have not acknowledged this issue.

@Birmingham113@Real_Factor Do you guys stutter in menu as well? I kinda thought that it could be a network issue, but I've tried using a very good/fast VPN (which generally can resolve network related issues) and it did nothing.

Think it could be my RAM...then again everything else is fine

I have switched out ram kits AND my mobo (returned in the end) with ZERO luck. This is all server side. My main issue is TN spikes. It spikes all the way up to 120 and then back down to 8. It does it over and over again making the game unplayable. All while having 20 ping...

  • Yep, changed my RAM as well without any effect. Also reinstalled OS to WIN11.

I'll just uninstall BF at this point.

Okay, so the weirdest thing is happening. I decided to just play through the stutters just to see how long it lasted, it lasted about 10 minutes. Then for some reason the game cleared up and I have been playing the session for 3hrs with no stutters after the first 10 minutes of stutters.

  • I figured it out - turned out I have an issue with USB ports on my mobo, after removing ALL devices the stuttering has gone or changed to barely noticeable levels. Looks like its an issue with SoC/hub/chipset on my end.

  • For me i had the same problem what helped was disable ccpc prefered cores its in amd cbs-nbio-smu hope it helps
