The Original issue was fixed, I'm closing this thread to stop it from being necroed.

Not game to play again until resolved, seems this is a common bug. Game is running well, 80-100+ fps but not keen to burn my CPU out
Maybe you need to add some new fresh thermal paste to your cpu?
I'm amazed by your fps i have an i7 7700K running @ 4.8ghz with a 3060ti and i get between 60 and 90fps.
If it gets real intense 50. I'm wondering how you get that 80-100 fps though.
8600K with 3070ti on 1440p. changing settings ingame makes no difference to the fps (around 50). It is literal crap☹️. Also microstutters and freezes wich are worse then the fps.
Portal however does respond as intended.

You mean you turned of the CFG option completely?
@StaalVreter I fixed this for me and running on allmost 200 fps on low. It got fixed when I set the defender settings all excluding the BF folder + the documents folder where BF saves. Then I turned off CFG and I think this fixed the main problem.

I did the things he explained right there with windows defender, excluding the folders and disabling the CFG but unfortunately it didn´t do any changes to my performance, i´m still around 50-90 fps
You should go into defender options and find the line which contains ´´exclusions´´ and exclude the BF folder.
This makes a big difference for me:
Multimedia streaming and some games that uses “Multimedia Class Scheduler” service (MMCSS) can only utilize up to 80% of the CPU. The “Multimedia Class Scheduler” service (MMCSS) ensures prioritized access to CPU resources, without denying CPU resources to lower-priority background applications.
To implement this tweak, run regedit and modify the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile. From there, create a new DWORD and name it to “SystemResponsiveness” set its hexadecimal value to 00000000 for pure gaming/streaming.
In the same Registry hive as the above tweak, you can also change the priority of Games. To implement this tweak, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile\Tasks\Games and change the following registry values:
“GPU Priority” change its values to 8 for gaming.
“Priority” set to 6 for gaming.
