@psychotik2k3yes, my reply was to this comment: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/BF2042-CPU-Running-At-100-Constantly-For-No-Reason/m-p/11054168#M14270
(low gpu usage > low gpu wattage because the gpu waits for the cpu, not because the game doesnt use it; and low fps are due to the cpu bottleneck, not due to the low gpu usage)
looking at the new bf2042 rush mode (as well as other portal modes), it is just even more obvious, performance is generally less bad, but there are still cpu frametime spikes to 3-digit-ms, hence huge fps drops, and avg cpu-rendered fps is still below the server tick, all this without any cpu clock throttling or utilization drop, while the gpu renders 70-120+fps flawlessly, and this on a mix of a few low, mostly medium-high settings. hence, comparing apples-to-apples: bfv (64 players) runs far better (and looks far better, and has destruction, which in bf2042 is laughable) than bf2042 with 64 players on basically the same engine > obvious lack of bf2042 optimization, which fits to the overall state of the game
