Hello, anybody know how to restore hardware game settings to default values, as it should be as i just purchased game, every time i enter the game and check processor count for example is wrong number, and my processor i always on 100% usage, Ryzen 7 5700g. My old processor had 6 cores and this one has 8 cores. Please help.
Try moving the Battlefield 2042 folder out of the Documents folder to restore game settings to default.
The Battlefield 2042 folder shouldn't have any settings affecting how many CPU cores are used. Usually that's a setting called Thread.MaxProcessorCount in a user.cfg file located in the Battlefield 2042 install folder. “C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 2042\user.cfg”
user.cfg will only be there is you created it. It's not created by the game installation.
I don't even know if user.cfg works in Battlefield 2042. The easiest way to test if it does is to create a user.cfg then add PerfOverlay.DrawFPS 1 to it. Launch the game and then see if the game's frame rate is being displayed in the top right corner of the screen. If you see the frame rate it works, if not then it doesn't work.
My game is in EA Desktop folder C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2042, also getting error in event viewer from windows EAAntiCheatService Failed to obtain Origin directory, also have some strange delay when playing, i get killed by bullet or two while i need whole magazine to kill somebody, also get killed behind cover...i tried with user.cfg it reduce usage of processor but also and game is more lagging then and is more slower...
So, i found what is the problem in my case, maybe this will help someone in future.
I had AIO cooling, probably with some problem, today i put Wraith Stealth Cooler which i got with processor in box, just for testing. My spec are: MSI B550 MAG Tomahawk, Ryzen 7 5700g, MSI RX6700 XT Gaming X 12gb and 32gb 3733 Kingsotn Fury DDR4.
I leave game settings on Auto=medium without adding user.cfg in game folder or changing anything. Only what i did is PBO curve optimizer in bios, set to all core negative 10, PBO limits leave on Auto because now i have stock cooler and no point to oc and turned off Resizable Bar.
In Windows 10 turned off Link State Power Management and turn on Anti Lag, Image Sharpening, Enhanced Sync and Freesync in Adrenaline software.
Game runs smooth, cca. 140 FPS in game, in lobby and more. No latency markers anymore.
EAAntiCheatService Failed to obtain Origin directory, that error is something about game version over Epic Games, what i read on web is that Epic Games Launcher have anticheat built in and BF2042 have anticheat so maybe there is some conflict and then it reflects as game delay. I purchased different version of game just over EA app and there is no error in windows event viewer and there is no such big delay when playing.
