Black Screen on Startup

I know other users have had this issue before, and ive tried most things that have resolved the issue, but nothing sees to help in my case. Ive tried running things in admin mode, countless uninstalls, repairs and updates to EAantiCheat, clearing the cache in the EA app etc.

Id greatly appreciate any help. I even went as far as plugging in an old xbox one to play on console for a day, but i dont want to keep doing that.

Im running a lower end pc (Intel i5 6600k and GTX 1070)

  • Have you tried creating a backup of the Battlefield 2042 folder in Documents, then deleting the Battlefield 2042 folder? This will reset the game settings to default for video, audio, and controls.

Could you help me figure out how to do this? Ive never done that before.

    • Open Windows File explorer.
    • On the left side of the screen there should be a folder called Documents. Click on it.
    • Look for Battlefield 2042 folder and copy it to Desktop to create a backup.
    • Delete Battlefield 2042 folder in Documents to reset game to default settings.
    • Launch the game and see if it works now.

Doesnt work. The folder in documents only has two empty folders in it. CrashDumps and Screnshots. Probably because i havent gotten the game to work once since i got it so no new information has been updated in the docs folder.
