Bot One Shot Kill?

Summarize your bug Your bug form didn't give option on playing bots in the main game. I play mostly the main game (not portal) with only bots. When you drop an insertion point (spawn beacon) and then drop Angel's load out box/bag to get items refilled, it will give you another insertion point that you can't use. You don't have the ability to destroy the old insertion point. In previous games, this was allowed. Also, I have been one shot killed by bots. I am Angel with 20 armor plating. It is usually the shotgun with scope that kills me with one shot. I suspect that the armor actually has something to do with the one shot kill (like the calculation of the hit is multiplied instead of reduced) but I haven't tested yet. Many times the bots will shoot my emp grenades immediately after thrown.
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play Angel with armor in a beginner bot game. Play with insertion point to test that. Throw grenades.
What happens when the bug occurs? I die instantly.
What should be happening instead? Generally, it takes at least two shots even if it is a head shot.

  • @parttwo Unfortantly the GVT is a one shot kill to the head at any range, Body armor doesnt effect headshots either.

    I myself have been picked off by some AI using the GVT, sometimes they just get God Level aim.. hell ive been sniped out of a LATV at full speed by a AI with the GVT.

    Thanks for the input.  I understand you and thought about that as well.  I have headshot markers set as a particular color to let me know where I've hit.  I've literally been one shot killed, spawned back in, found the exact bot that killed me (since it was a remote area from the battle), killed him, took his shotgun and used it.  It will take me two shots to kill the bots, one head shot and one body shot.  Now you could say it is a range thing where the closer the person the higher chance of a one shot with that gun.  I think there are two issues on this.  The first is the bots aim ability (i.e. quick headshots from 100's of bots, having the ability to quickly shoot grenades in the sky when thrown at them) and second the power of the shotgun using buck shot.  I'd have less of an argument if it was a slug round (if using damage calculators from older games - bf3, bf4, etc).  As a whole on this, I just get the feeling that maybe the GVT is over powered and may become something that could be exploited in multiplayer.  In a game where you end up in a 1 vs 1 situation, and you have full health and armor, you tend to think you have a chance in the duel, something somewhere (aim ability or over powered gun) quickly tells you WRONG 🙂  It doesn't seem right.
