Constant Lag
I just brought the game off Steam. Whenever I'm in game, when deployed, I get constant lag, as if I am missing packets, with the 3 orange squares in the top left. I have no other problems with any ot...
@twitchandooodid ya install latest update from windows ? And got issues since this update ? <<--- NVM , you got windows 10 , update is for windows 11
@Rokebo73Only got the game yesterday so wouldn't be able to compare different windows updates. Just tried the cleanboot and didn't change anything, if anything -5fps. Also BF2042 is the only thing stored on the SSD, It was on my hard drive before but moved it as that seems to solve other problems people are having but clearly not mine.
@twitchandoooah ok, so you got the game just 1 day ? Did you already play all the maps ?
And do you got onedrive running in the background
?
Every map you play will make a shader cache in C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\Documents\Battlefield 2042\cache
this will be downloaded during gaming.
how many ~FPS do you get in your game ?
Can you tell me how much cpu usage % during game bf2042 ?
Those 4 overlay windows, is trhe upper right your fps ?
@twitchandooobottleneck is your cpu. BF2042 is very intensive cpu game. To get more FPS , you realy need to cleanboot and lower GRAPHICS settings in game. resolution at 1920x1080 and lower the Hertz 60+, and graphics presets at low. You could try to buildup from low settings and up ! Disable everything else in display settings and test what will run ok, and what needs to be disabled.
Check for and upgrade cpu !! And make sure you got some fast memory 3200 or even better 3600 Max !

@FlakstarI wasn't streaming while I was playing. Some people (1-3 other PCs) normally do use my network while we all play games. I or the other people on my network haven't had this problem with any other game, in the past year or more.
@twitchandoooyup only gaming shouldnt be a problem, online games dont need much bandwidth. Are your mates and you using a wired connection?
From my personal expierence lags/stutter can occour when some is watching YT/Netflix or use any other application which tends to burst their traffic ( eg browsers) or saturarted the linespeed completly ( downloads ). Such issues can be migrated with a router, which supports atleast basic QoS/traffic shaping.
Does it happens when only you use the network? If not, i would consider to buy router with QoS/TS options. Ubiquiti or if you got alot of spare money a Cisco small business router, you ll need a separte cable/xDSL/Fiber modem with PPPoE passthrough ( maybe your currrent ISP/personal device already support PPPoE pt ).
Still 1000ms TN and CFT (30s, might be related to high TN, may EA staff can answers this ) are pretty high. TN indicates network isusse, while CFT indicates PC/client issues, which might be caused by TN spikes.
