Summarize your bug While using a PlayStation 5 controller on PC. It will randomly make you look up at the sky
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? By using a Playstation 5 controller on PC
What happens when the bug occurs? It makes you look up.
What should be happening instead? Nothing. You should be able to use your controller. With out it randomly making you look up.

I'll like to note.  I am not the only one having this problem.  If you go to the Battlefield 2042 forum on Steam.  Everyone who is using a controller on pc is having problems.  With the Playstation 5 controllers, and the Xbox Controller.  Everyone in the forums.  Tried a number of things to fix the problem.

1.  Trying another controller.
2.  Using the controller wireless.
3.  Using the controller wired in.
4.  Unplugging the mouse.

So far it seems to be a problem with the game.  With the playstation 5 controllers. Randomly while playing.  It will make your character look up.  While moving, or aiming.  With the Xbox Controllers.  It seem to do the same thing, but makes you look down.  Please fix the problem, cause when your about to shoot someone.  Then it randomly makes you look up at the sky.  Is ruining the game for controller players.

    1)  Goto folder C:\Users\#######\Documents\Battlefield 2042\settings
    2) open PROFSAVE_profile with notepad or wordpad
    3) search down the list for GstInput.MouseRawInput 1 and change that to 0
    4) click save

load up battlefield2042 and it should now ALWAYS be off!

( make sure your PROFSAVE_profile  file is not read only ) ** right click the file click properties and uncheck read-only ** then try saving the file again with adjusted setting

Hope this helps ( im honestly just about to test if it fixed the random look up, ill play for an hour and return with an update. as it usually happen 4x a match... it'll happen if it happens..)

** update ** hasnt happened since i adjusted this setting..*fingers crossed*

Can anybody else confirm that this works and can we pay this as an "ANSWER" somehow? I gave up on this game for a year. Just jumped back in with all the new updates and my aim is still randomly flicking up. I'll try this and repost to confirm if it worked but it would be great if this was definitely a solution for everybody.

YouTube comments of this guy are filled with people having same bug. https://youtu.be/tyPa-euaVAU

  • This is happening to me on PC without a controller plugged in just whenever I get revived... I'm looking straight up. Good work Dice.

This is on the older side of time, I'm closing this thread to stop it from being necroed.

If you have any issues with Battlefield 2042, please make a new topic about your problems and what kind of steps you have tried to solve them.
