SFC and DISM found nothing. Crashed after running all 4 commands.
Crashed with 1 monitor.
Yes, I updated the BIOS myself. I used the instructions from ASUS.
I am using XMP I.
We're skipping a step or two by going directly to swapping memory sticks. We have not determined that there is anything wrong with my RAM. If it crashed with both sticks I haven't determined if it's the game or the memory.
I went through Corsair's methodology for testing RAM. https://help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/articles/14238510858637-How-to-Test-RAM-Modules-for-Memory-Issues
You're asking me to be at Step 7, without going through any means of determining that there is something wrong with the RAM. That's the figuring out which stick is bad step. We need to show that the ram is the problem before going through steps to figure out which stick is bad.
I honestly have no reason to believe there is anything wrong with my RAM. Both tests ran without issue. Darktide, Call of Duty, Dead Space, Cyberpunk 2077, baldur gate 3, Control, all run fine without issue. I can run cinebench and prime95 all day. I've left my computer to compress dozens of 40gb files.
So if Windows memory diagnostic, and memtest86 results are not enough, What other tests would you like me to run to evaluate the status of my ram? There's no point in switching RAM sticks until we determine that there is an issue with my RAM. That's nothing but a test of desperation at that point, and with this being the only piece of software that is crashing, I'm not that desperate, I have plenty of other games that are stable to play.
I have seen this this before, that mem test software doesnt popup/show an error.
But after testing sticks , each seperatly , and gaming did show errors !
Just to make sure memory isnt the error, ya should test them as i explained.
sometimes ya need to do a hard reset cmos, connectying 2 pins at motherboard. <-- check mb manual.
A bios flash could make issues sometimes if it isnt reset , also this i have seen in the past 😉
I also have seen broken/faulty cpu (especialy 13900xx , there seems to be a bad batch made from this cpu.
Ya realy need to test/check everything, even a new clean install windows, with up to date drivers (chip set drivers , firmware driver ect ect ect ect)

You seem to be missing the point. I have 1 piece of software crashing. There are a dozen different AAA titles I can play without issue. I can have dozens of windows of browsers open, and compress 40gb files all night without problem.
If I had bad ram or a bad processor, I would see symptoms of such in other software. I am not seeing such symptoms.
Testing in single channel with the software that is crashing won't tell me anything other than the game crashes in single channel or not.
In order to verify that the ram or cpu is bad, we use SOMETHING OTHER THAN 2042.
You're basically telling me that this error means I have bad hardware, but you can't give me any other tests to use to verify that there is an issue with my hardware.
At this point I have no reason to believe there is something wrong with my computer, the fact that this is the only game with problems leads me to think it's the game that is unstable. So what is the process we are going to go through to show that my computer has a hardware problem, OTHER THAN USING THE GAME THAT IS CRASHING. That's poor methodology and doesn't verify that the software isn't the problem.

I cant go to team group and say “ea support says this error means my memory is bad, rma please.”
I have to have some repeatable methodology of showing them I have bad RAM.

@Ris3n_Da3mon google for it.
Ya will see many cases with bad memory while any memory test software doesnt show any error !
But ya cant troubleshoot if ya dont test EVERYTHING in/with youre system. There are also know cases that shows that cpu is screwed down to tight at sockes (by coolblock), lga1700 socket could bend youre cpu.
This could make issues when cpu get some temp and looses proper connection with the lga1700 socket.
I did got this issue with the 13900 cause temps did get to high.
I had to reinstall fans (aio) to get temps down for some degree, i also used a Thermal Grizzly Contact Plate.I solved my issue, in this way.
Ya realy need to FULL troubleshoot youre system.
Youre temps are nice , and ok, but ya got an issue.
Ya say in software ya fixed everything, so it could not be an software/cfg setting ?Then ya need to troubleshoot youre hardware !
Virtual memory , XMP settings (on / of). Down clock CPU hz from 5500 to 5200 , little undervolt also with fix vcore set at 1.285 volt, ect ect ect ect ect ect ect !!!!!!
But if ya dontr check ya hardware then troubleshoot isnt 100%.
BF2042 read/write into memory in a different way then other games and test software for memory !
Google for it , ya probarly will find a lot of info about issues and troubleshoots 13900 cpu and memory,Cheers

Dude, I have tested everything. It all points to the game being a problem.
I have googled the problem. I have tried everything in those threads.
I tested in single channel. Crashed with both sticks in single channel. So what have we learned? Have we narrowed down whether or not the problem is my ram or the game? No.
Waste of time.
what’s next? Can you just give me a list of every hoop you expect me to jump through before we can both be at the same conclusion that this game is the issue.
if this game uses memory in a way that other games dont, and other games are stable, maybe it shouldnt do things in a different way.
is there any other software that does it the same way?? That way we could use that to verify that the problem is my hardware and not the game.

The existence of 13900Ks being bad, does not mean mine is bad.
I need a second piece of software crashing or showing issues before I will be convinced that the problem is hardware and not software.
So, What is another piece of software I can use to test my hardware and verify that there is a problem with it.
Only using 2042 to test will never get me to the conclusion of whether it is the hardware or software. An additional piece of software needs to be used to show that there is an issue. - Rokebo733 years agoSeasoned Ace
not.
If ya check for my name in different topics, ya will see a lot of issues with 139000
Some cause by temps
some caused by faulty/broken cpu
some caused by faulty/broken memory
some caused by not compatible memory
some by virtual memory set.
some by running in admin mode or not
some by a faulty sdd/hdd
ect ect ect ect
so many different solves for just 1 issue.
Check if ya can borrow just 1 stick that is compatble with youre system,. to check if it isnt any memory issue.
maybe reseat youre cpu , new "thermal paste" on it.
maybe cpu isnt correctly aligned some how and ya need to check all screws again to see if that fixes your problem.
Do a bios reset with the JUMPER AT MOTHERBOARD
and ya need to believe me that software "does not always show errors if ya check memory" , sometimes there is no software/program that help ya.
I have seen this before, only then ya need to check everything by replace or reconfigure hardware !
Sorry but somethings are out of bounce and just cant be solved this way.
ps check EVENTVIEWER for errors with bf2042, then narrow down to the details in those logs.
Maybe there is an issues that can be solved by info in those logs !!!
this topic same error ,1 of the topics with the error you got 😉

Yes, linking to a problem that we have already ruled out. Helpful!some caused by faulty/broken cpu prime 95 and cinebench run fine for hours.
some caused by faulty/broken memory Only crash is BF2042. 1/30+ programs crashing does not really point to bad memory.
some caused by not compatible memory We already verified this.
some by virtual memory set. I have tested this at multiple settings, up to 20gb.
some by running in admin mode or not, makes no diff.
some by a faulty sdd/hdd crystal disk benchmark and crystaldisk info show my ssds performing as expected and not showing any errors.
maybe reseat youre cpu , new "thermal paste" on it. I replaced my cpublock with a different last night, still crashed afterwards.
maybe cpu isnt correctly aligned some how and ya need to check all screws again to see if that fixes your problem. just reseated last night.
Do a bios reset with the JUMPER AT MOTHERBOARD I did this when I went through the memory testing process I linked to from corsair. Thanks for paying attention.
"and ya need to believe me that software "does not always show errors if ya check memory" , sometimes there is no software/program that help ya." Ok. So the only check is swapping hardware. Whatever.
Nothing in eventviewer related to 2042.
I'll just buy some different ram next week to prove that it's not the memory.
What's the next step after you tell me that it's still my computer? - Rokebo733 years agoSeasoned Ace@Ris3n_Da3mon Hmmm, i realy believe there is something wrong with youre memory.
Ya did almost a complete troubleshoot with youre system.
Only problem is , CPU ,GPU and MEMORY arent realy checked, and i mean , software will probarly not give any info.
This will say that ya only could test by replace hardware, not all at once.
Start with memory first, cheapets and easy to do <-- And probly the issue !!!
Ya did try Down clock cpu and voltage already ? it can solve youre issue , BUT ya will loose performance, but again it could be a temporarly solution till ya got new memory ! <--- make sure its in youre QVL !
Cheers (keep us up to date please !) - 3 years ago
Since the large update with the season change I have not seen a crash.
I'm now 1000% sure there's nothing wrong with my machine, and it was an issue with the game causing the crash that was patched out.
