Dozer and his wonky shield

On which server did this happen? This has occurred on the [All out warfare] game mode.
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) I experienced this issue during December.
Summarize your bug When I started playing multiplayer for the first time and selected a specialist I got quickly fond of Dozer due to him possessing a shield that will protect him from bullets. But as I continued to play as him it didn't take that long for me to notice that there were some problems with his shield. Probably the most glaring issue is the strange melee range of the shield. If I run into an enemy player and want to kill them with the shield the game doesn't seem to register me hitting them when I am literary in range, or right in their face, to bash them with the shield. It ends with me bashing them multiple times without landing a successive hit even though I am in range. I will rarely win the fight and if I am "lucky" I may down them with the shield. Another problem is you turning around when holding the shield. I think other people have already pointed out this issue but I just wanted to help with highlighting it. Whenever an enemy player tries to psyche you out by running around you quickly in order to gun you down, Dozer moves incredibly slow as he turns around to face them from a new direction. Because you can't keep with their pace when holding the shield it is almost a guarantee that you will end up losing the fight.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Try doing a [1 versus 1] fight with Dozer and another specialist. Make it so that you are actually fighting eachother, where both of the specialists moves around but Dozer can only attack the other player with his shield. Also let the other player psyche Dozer out by running around him in order to gun him down and see if he can keep up with their pace.
What happens when the bug occurs? The melee range of Dozer's shield is inconsistent and he seldom lands a successive hit on an enemy player.
What should be happening instead? Whenever Dozer is in range to bash someone with his shield his attack should register and where he ends up being the victor of the fight instead of the loser. If I can come with a suggestion I would like to see Dozer in the future being able to perform a shield charge, where he will sprint for a short distance and knock any enemy player down to the ground who is unlucky to stand in his way.

I unfortunately didn't have any recording that I could send as I wrote this report.

  • I recently read that the reason for why Dozer moves so slow when holding the shield is because it is supposed to be a trade off, which makes it easier for the adversary player to counter him. The problem with this said balance is that it becomes too easy for the enemy player to take out Dozer. Because they can simply run past Dozer to gun him down as I have described in my post above. And not only that, on numerous occasions I have encountered players that will use other means to dispatch him quickly. Most notably with using either the [Recoilless M5] or [C5]. The use of these weapons against Dozer serves as additional proof that his slow movement speed is not a good balance. I think his inability to look down and vault over objects is enough of a trade off for using the shield. The only thing that can be changed is the damage that he deals with each bash. Instead of being a one hit kill it could instead be changed so that Dozer needs to bash an enemy player 2 or 3 times before they go down.
