have this problem too on 4080 ((

This is same error I have, after installing a new RTX 4080. I run into this error within a minute of spawning as infantry. Oddly, if I spawn into a vehicle, I don't get the crash and error until after I'm out of the vehicle or have respawned as infantry.

What "fixed" it for me was lowering my graphics settings in game from Ultra to High. For the record, I've also tried the steps in the last post of https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/DirextX-function-quot-GetDeviceRemovedReason-quot-failed-with/td-p/10950204/page/102

Turning off DLSS did not work. Using DDU to do a clean driver install did not work. Cleaning out the Documents/BF2042 directory did not work. Only reducing the graphics from Ultra to High has worked. Also, I did not have this problem with the RTX 3080, only with the 4080.

also getting this error, 9900k 32gigs ram rtx 4080.. latest build windows 11 with latest drivers for gpu..

did you guys try the User.cfg file ?
There is a know inssues at this moment with CPU usage !
And with the monitors/tv's you guys use and the resolution settings , you cpu is getting a hardtime to keep it up !!
Your GPU is overkill for your system, i would buy a lower GPU card and a better CPU (also memory thats compatabile with the cpu)

But for now try the User.cfg , it will give better performance and probarly no gpu errors !

Yes, I also tried the User.cfg file to increase the thread count, with no effect. I still have to lower the graphics to "high" to play, and "ultra" still crashes in about a minute after spawning.

Try either dropping the clock speed on your GPU or regulating the voltage. Use MSI Afterburner and set your core clock -200Mhz. Or adjust the curve to max at around 2800Mhz at 1.0V

Worked for me on my TUF 4080 (Boost clock on that is 2850Mhz)

Looks like this is a problem with the 4080. One person there said to change the terrain from ultra to high. Hopefully they fix this in the next driver update.

I have the same problem with my 4080 and by passing the terrain in hight the problem is solved.
