Hi,If I try to connect from Japan, I can no longer connect to the EA servers and the game. I have tried with different ISPs and still no joy. I have checked everything and tried ALL the suggested potential solutions but still no luck.I then used a VPN connecting via Hong Kong and I could connect immediately...Why can the same account connect out of HK but not out of Japan (when it used to be able to do so)?Why is an account on an ISP in Japan working and all of a sudden it is not anymore?Why is the same account trying multiple ISPs in Japan still unable to connect (you could blame a problem at one ISP but not multiple)?Could you please explain how you decide who can connect and who cannot?I am sorry to say so but it feels like there is something very manual/amateurish going on or you are blanket-blocking specific countries. Visually it looks terrible.Could you please explain to the community what is going on and why this is happening?

@RedneckWreckTom it is possible theat a (some) "hop" got disconnects some where in the line youre data is past to.Youre isp could check if any "hop" has some issues /blocks / updates that causes those problems.Sometimes ya need to reset all connection at home, modem/router/pc settings ect ect ect.Reset settings at youre pc to see if it helps youre issue:NETWORK RESETPress Windows key + 'R' ,typ CMD, Press and hold down CTRL + SHIFT and press ENTER.When User Account Control shows up, click Yes.copy and paste the following commands by pressing enter at the end of each command line:netsh winsock resetnetsh int ip resetnetsh advfirewall resetnetsh winhttp reset proxyipconfig /releaseipconfig /flushdnsNow Shut down the PC.Unplug power cables from PC and modem/router for about 1 minute (unplug power cables).Plugin power cable from the router/modem and wait till it's back online.Plugin power cable from the PC.Boot your systemThis will also reset youre firewall, so if ya boot bf2042 again,for example , a firewall popup will ask to grant acces again.Cheers

Hello @EA_Leeuw ,Thank you for your reply. Under normal circumstances I would be inclined to agree with you for a single ISP. But multiple ISPs exactly at the same time? It is quite a stretch.Anyway, it is no big deal, if it does not work I will do something else, life goes on. That being said though, connectivity issues are the bane of people using EA in general. I would love (and the entire community I am certain) would love to hear from the developers why such issues happen and what they are doing to make the whole experience more robust.I would like also to point out that my connection has come back eventually. Also when I was checking my internet speed I saw that EA servers were listed as having connectivity issues on Ookla. So it does sound like it was a widespread problem and the source of it seems to have been on the EA side. EA meanwhile did not mention any issues with their servers despite was third parties were detecting.

Here we go again...Persistence data connection problem. Nothing has changed in my connection. EA can blame the users all it wants, this instability simply does not make any sense.Oh well, life goes on.

Hey @RedneckWreckTom,If you can connect with a VPN, but not via your own ISP or others near you, it is likely that they have blocked something on their lines that stops you from connecting to BF2042.I would recommend getting in touch with the ISP(s) to check if they might know of something.

Hey @RedneckWreckTom,It is very common for multiple ISPs to use the same tech, same servers etc. and all that on the backend, especially if multiple ISPs are available to you in a specific region. They all go over the same line. Hence why I am not really surprised that you're experiencing the issue with multiple ISPs, but not with VPN while still being connected via the same ISPs.Unfortunately, connectivity issues are an eyesore for all of us. Mainly because a small problem can have a million different causes, or even a combination of them.All I can tell you is that we have no reported connection issues. If that were different, you also wouldn't be able to connect via a VPN either.

Actually, today is a good example.
EA is saying its servers are all ok, meanwhile there is a huge spike in people unable to connect to BF 2042 when looking at downdetector.com . So there is a huge disconnect between what EA sees and what the users are experiencing. No wonder this instability never gets fixed since they think everything is fine.
Unless they know there is a problem and they are not acknowledging it. I can't believe that would the case though.
Meanwhile at EA.....

Good to know I am not crazy after all but sorry to hear others are having the same problem.
I hope EA will provide a post-mortem as to what happened. I would really love to understand these connectivity issues.

@RedneckWreckTom Of course they know. They are not acknowledging it because that would mean they would admit it's their fault. Which is something EA doesn't do. Their servers probably need upgrading but that costs money. And why would they spend money on that when they can just apologise for the thousand time since they arent held accountable for anything.

@RedneckWreckTom EA will never acknowledge when problems are at their fault. They don't care about you or any other players. Not the first time and not going to be the last. For me, this the last game from EA I ever play. Enough is enough, I'm better off buying other games from different publishers. It's going same * show again and again.

Hi Guys,
I think that corporations in general rarely admit to anything being their fault. It is not something specific to EA.
That being said, EA a few years back was voted worst corporation in America and lost a lot of goodwill from gamers. Eventually their inability to address ongoing connectivity issues will hurt their bottom line when players desert them.
It is kind of sad though. You could have an amazing game turn into a terrible experience because your programmers aren't able to create a stable environment to connect to...

Update: fixed on my side. Let's see how stable it is.
The number of problems reported on downdetector.com is going down as well.
So, it should be on the mend.
