Have the same issue, EA servers are just garbage. It's true what people say disabling Cross Play makes that error not happen, but I tried both BF2042 and BFV and there are like 7 people playing. Yesterday I waited 15 minutes to get enough people to start a game and we got up to 7 people....at that point I was like screw it, BF is just dead. And they have the audacity to ask me to buy DLCs...
And yes both BF2042 and BFV result in the same error, I've tried the same 'fixes', changes DNSs...repaired the game. Nothing works. EA and Dice have been going downhill hard for years...and now you can finally not play at all. There are like too many nails in that coffin.
