I've tried changing Compatibility mode, but it doesn't work. I paid good money for a product that doesn't work, and I'd appreciate it if EA would take some responsibility/accountability to its users.
I find it misleading to users to declare a solution to a problem that does not work.
Clearly:
- a majority of users are experiencing a problem and cannot use your product due to the recent update you have released.
- they have paid good money for something that does NOT work
- EA has stated that the problem will be investigated
- EA has failed to resolve the problem
All of these conditions has a strong semblance to FRAUD.
The FTC has strict laws in place to address this perhaps that will be the next call of action should this not be addressed promptly.

A fix for the issue where a small number of PC players are experiencing an error when attempting to load #Battlefield2042 is on the way! The team is working hard to get Hotfix #8.1.0.1 rolled out on Monday, 16th at 08:00 UTC for PC players.

BTW For all the many players who constantly have crashes in the middle of a round, like me, THIS HAPPENS ONLY!!! IN 128PLAYER MODES
