Error when trying to launch

I get this error when trying to launch: "DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed, I could fix it before by restarting my computer, but now it doesn't work anymore. I've tried the following things: 1) reinstalling drivers, 2) verify integrity of game files, 3) clear render cache.

  • @MaartenMMMMHi, I was getting a very similar issue. Could temp get it working by deleting the user setting folder in documents. If you use Nvidia Image Scaling (top of control panel) then turn it off. This worked for me. I think it's a resolution bug. Could also try running your desktop resolution in say 1080, and also put the game in 1080. May have to edit the user setting file in my documents if you can't get the game to boot.

Other things to try, download direct X runtime libraries.

Clean install of your GPU driver.

Cap your fps. Set FPS in Nvidia control panel to 100.

    Bios update if required.

Windows updates are up to date.

    Run as administrator.

    Good luck 🤞

  • I've tried everything you've mentioned, but it still doesn't work, is it normal that the game launches like this?

@MaartenMMMM Hi, if it's a first time launch after deleting the user setting file then it most likely start up in windowed mode if that's what the your refering too. How soon does it crash after that screen? Could you make a copy of your dxdiag and post it. May well spot something there. Thanks

@MaartenMMMM Hi, had a look through.Sorry but didn't notice anything. The only other thing I can think off is that it might be worth running a couple of previous GPU drivers and possibly the studio version of the driver to see if that works. Sorry I can't be anymore help😟
  • I found the problem, I did a sfc /scannow and the game works now
