Can confirm, sometimes happens with shoulder launched AA as well. Since the behavior with some missiles when a lock is broken is to just stop tracking and go straight, if it's already lined up and already very close then the flare will not change it's trajectory and it will still hit. I hit low choppers like this often.

@JD_W0LF It is a problem for one simple reason. For example plane comes at you you flare but still get hit. He has plenty of time to turn around and hit you again with another rocket and with a lot of damage from the main gun because your flares that didn't protect you are still on a cooldown. Against a good plane pilot that knows how to use this bug you are dead unless your aim is really good to kill it.
