Having access to the console in BF games is completely normal. All settings in there should be safe your you to change, too (it *could* break the game, though). You can open/close the console at any time by hitting the key to the left of 1 (right under Esc).

@MR6igglesw0rth As above, not a bug.The command console has been available in all battlefield games starting with BF3.
