Graphics settings don't matter?
I just now tried to lower my graphics settings, ultra, high, medium, low. They don't give me an FPS boost. I do have the RTX enabled, but that shouldn't matter a lot, should it? I mean, DLSS and all ...

@meeha2It’s not you. I have friends with amazing rocket ships who still drop below 70 fps in 144mhz. The ray tracing is an issue, you should get a gain from turning that off. The visual difference between ultra and high is so negligible that I keep my rig on high. Google 2042 FPS settings and you’ll find lots of tips, including changing some settings in your video card (I have Nvidia so use Nvidia Control Panel, Radeon has their own version too). Google is your friend on this one. You may pick up a little, but the game seems very poorly optimized. Might help with it playing on older generation devices but doesn’t do anything new any favours. You can also check the load on your CPU, if it’s anything above 90% you’re looking at a new hip or start turning some background programs off. Chrome is a huge monster on your cpu, turn that crap off for sure. If you need, try Edge (I know, it’s crazy) it’s way less taxing on your CPU.
